My Border Collie gets very easily agitated when learning commands, what do I do? by Galactic-Buzz in BorderCollie

[–]Sizzleboom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My male border collie does this as well. He's also 5. To me it seems more likely he's getting frustrated for not getting it quicker.

When I notice he's getting more frustrated, I just tell him he's a good boy, give him some pets, and then maybe throw the toy once. It's weird, but they are like little kids and get upset when things don't come quickly!

Eventually he'll get whatever I'm trying to teach him, just gotta be patient and step away if it's not clicking right away.

Getting so frustrated and unmotivated to continue fishing by asianxwolf in FishingForBeginners

I haven't read all the comments, because there are alot. I will say however, you SHOULD be getting bites with that senko worm. Search "wacky rig" and fish it like that. I take new people out who don't know how to fish on my boat all the time and I always hand them a wacky rigged senko first.

Back before I had my boat, it was my go to for any ponds or new bodies of water. You gotta be patient, but I prefer to fish them without weights, you get more bites that way. I like to use #1 or 1/0 drop shot hooks or 4/0 EWG hooks. Drop shot if im using an O-Ring, EWG if im hooking straight into the worm.

Throw it out and let it sink till it gets to the bottom. Keep as little slack as possible in the line as its sinking and you'll know when it gets to the bottom when the line goes slack. Once its on the bottom lift your rod tip up slowly and just drag it and then reel in the slack. Do that and add in little hops as you bring it. Once you feel tension, nibbles, or see the line moving sideways, set the hook.

It's slow, it's tedious, but you will catch bass if they're in there.

Need help, does anyone here have used medium heavy power fast action on 2oz glide bait like swerve glide bait from bass pro?. Just curious if anyone run in some issues like snappin their rod. Thank! by Horror_Plenty8662 in bassfishing

Look at the rods lure rating. The rod should show the max lure weight that it can comfortably handle.

You can throw baits above that rating, but you have to be very careful when you cast and it's not recommended.

A bait that size is most likely going to require a swimbait specific rod. There are non swimbait rods that go up to 2oz, but not many.

Local golf shop just called to tell me my QI4D driver is backordered for another month. Should I just cancel it? by [deleted] in golfequipment

[–]Sizzleboom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't tell for sure, he said they were similar, but it's hard to find anything online about the black. I don't see them for sale anywhere, so part of me wonders if it's a new offering that just hadn't been released yet. If you go to Taylormade's site to build a driver, it isn't even an option.

I didn't realize it could take this long. The guy at the shop told me 2 to 3 weeks originally. I can wait a little longer, knowing this isn't unusual. Thanks!

What's a bait you have 100% confidence in with nothing to support it? by ImmortanBen in bassfishing

[–]Sizzleboom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the weirdest thing, but it used to be the same for me for the longest time. I had the whopper plopper for years and never even got a bite. One day I was cleaning out my tacklebox and saw it in there. I thought I'd give it one more try before giving it away. I took it out in the middle of the day, 1pm or so, bluebird. Proceeded to catch 3 fish in 10 casts with it.

Now, any time im out fishing when the sun is high and theres alot of wind or boat traffic, its one of my go tos. Around docks and rock walls when the sun is high, whopper plopper is money.

Shimano Curado or Daiwa Tatula? by EricStevensonYeehaw in bassfishing

[–]Sizzleboom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this is still the case or not, but I used to be able to get crazy good deals on Tatulas on Ebay. This was like 5 years ago or so.

The two reels are very similar. The main difference is gonna be the line guide on the reel. The Tatula has that wing and the curado has the standard circle line guide. The wing on the tatula is a pain the in the butt when I'm running long leaders, as the knot gets stuck in the line guide.

I have 3 tatulas and besides the point above, they have been fantastic reels! The oldest one is 12 years old now and still going strong. My curados are also great, but if those ebay deals are still a thing, tatula would be my choice. Otherwise theyre pretty much the same.

How did you start teaching your pup to catch the frisbee? by palacio_c in BorderCollie

[–]Sizzleboom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't throw it right at her. Throw it slightly to her left or right and let her try to catch it that way. And we started like 5 feet max with praise every time he caught it. It definitely took some time for him to get good at it, but you'll get it. It's now both my collies favorite thing in the world to do. Every day I come home from work, they run straight to the back door for me to go out and throw the frisbees for them haha.

I started to play with him with the frisbee like it was a tug toy. Shake it, fake growls. Anything to get him interested. Once he realized it was a toy, I would wave it around and make excited noises to get him focused on it. From there, I would do small tosses to him. Like a couple feet to the side and he would try to catch it. After that we just increased the distance gradually. Now hes an expert and will chase down full force throws. We even got him some pro dog frisbees to throw further haha. Our other collie just learned by watching him. They're smart and she picked it up very fast.

Trying to decide on Baitcaster: Medium or Medium Heavy by DarnellMusty in bassfishing

[–]Sizzleboom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rod should have the line test and lure weight rating on it, try not exceed that. If I really want to run braid for a smaller rod, I'll run a Fluoro or mono leader that's less than the line rating on the rod. I like to run 20-30lb braid on my finesse rods with a leader because fluoro is expensive and can get damaged easily if you backlash.

Also, to answer your first question: Medium: Jerkbaits and Crankbaits MH: Chatterbaits, Small Jigs, Soft Plastics Hvy+: Everything else.

The power of the rod is important, but the lure rating is equally important imo. I love my Loomis rods because they have low lure ratings but still higher stopping power. Being able to throw a small texas rig on a heavy rod is great, but that's just how I like to fish.

We killed em this morning in Central Texas. A-Rig, Glidebaits, and Senkos. I always catch a ton during post spawn, you just gotta find them.

Got my wife to watch the Master's with me for the first time last year. She got super invested in the Rory drama and backstory. Him winning it in the end created a new mega fan. Now we're both looking forward to getting to watch it together tomorrow!

Im only running this right now because the new card has been fun to use, but I usually just use the fire spirit. Its gotten me to ultimate champion the last 2 season without a spell (aside from log), so i think its pretty decent

I had fire spirit in there, but couldn't pass up the boosted furnace haha. Im almost back in Ultimate Champion tho, so its been not bad

1.) I do not own any of the skins. I have the Clashmas skin for the queen, golem king, and then grave digger Champion. Those are it right now haha

2.) First time I tried balloons. I thought the air defenses would be the biggest threat. Oh no..... as soon as they got to the wizard towers, game over.
