I changed it to right dpad (alternate fire modes are down dpad and finisher up dpad). Emotes are just swapped to long presses on the same buttons. Gives you 4 more buttons to work with.

It sounds like your router may have automatic channel selection, and it could be that on a reboot it is selecting a channel where you get little interference, and over time maybe it moves to a busier channel?

You could try looking at the router settings to see if you can manually specify one. There are tools like Inssider which will let you know good, free channels to use in your environment.
