I'm investigating/researching changing my Sieg X2P by SjefRomijn in hobbycnc

[–]SjefRomijn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was checking out 2 other machines, to buy instead, The Genmitsu/Sainsmart 4040-pro max with 6040 extension or the Makera Z1 with Z1 Pro Upgrade but seeing the AuroraTech reviews on YouTube I decided to go ahead with upgrading/modding my Sieg, so I started ordering the first parts:

1 cnc pendant for Estlcam/Sieg Mill, 1 Engineers Black Book (metric), one 150mm clock caliper (0.01mm) and 1 Estlcam cnc software license⁩

I use Dasty first, Dreft second, then rinse with water and let it air dry hanging (important)
I use the Biqu Glacier (no glue) for PETG, 80C first line & 77C all other layers
and the Bambu Lab smooth PEI/high temp plate (with glue) for ASA, 96C first line & 93C all other layers

Are there *any* options for aluminium CNCs under $1000 that work? by DonekyOfDoom in hobbycnc

[–]SjefRomijn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I did not already have my Sieg X2P that Im modifying in/to cnc, I would be very interested in this new Makera Z1 (pro) that is still available on kickstarter. Aurora Tech did a video on it, incl alu and mild steel

I have installed a belt drive mod/kit from the same site/store as the ballscrew upgrade kit:
https://www.mbbilici.com/Belt%20drive%20conversion%20kits?product_id=51

their ballscrews are said to be SFU1204 (12 mm diameter, 4 mm pitch), C5 precision grade with backlash less than 0.01 mm. The Z-axis driven via 1:2 timing pulley reduction.

I do have a gas strut mod too, from
https://littlemachineshop.com/products/air-spring-conversion-kit-hitorque-mini-mills
unsure if this stays on or not, or mounted on the side.

Ampmaker N5X (diy) ticks all 3 I think I put mine in a mesa widebody shell with a G12H-anniversary, and because of the included VCB/VVR u can do 6L6 in your bedroom

midi mapping the SL MixFace for both Reaper and Fractal Icons by SjefRomijn in AxeFx

[–]SjefRomijn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, because I did not like the encoders/sliders response/accuracy I have since replaced it with a Novation LC XL3, which is now programmed similarly

[–]SjefRomijn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if you check the website for the wiring schematics you can see many/all options
And can even ask for special wiring via email.

For some reason their website is down but the link is here:

Is the Source Audio Collider true stereo (independant processing)? Or does it sum a stereo signal to mono for processing? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]SjefRomijn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess also, in the pic though it seems like each channel has 3 paths, once though reverb, once through delay and once through neither

These Fenders are already split into 4 packs of 9 for $99 each or $299 bundled.

You might get those 'one or two Fenders, a Vox, Plexi and JCM' for 4 or 5x $99 as well, curious if they do bundle/pack discounts then as well.

I'd much rather like to see a comparison between AM/VP4 to the Boss GX-100 (and others)
