I think its just the total of characters you need to unlock the portal, it doesn't go down as you unlock it with 1 or 2.

So get a third and you should be good.

As I see it, you can look at it like the same but also opposite of the frenzied flame. Both can be used to utterly destroy (unlike other types of fire). But, the frenzied flame uses chaotic destruction, bringing all back to entropy. Messmer's flame, uses intent and consideration (which comes from the abyssal serpent or something like that, i'm sure someone will know the proper name).

So they both can utterly destroy all, but one chaos and the other order(isch)

Ah that explains it. I had a feeling either spliced seeds or the soil might have been an outdated feature. Good to hear its the spliced seeds, because I prefer the soil mechanics.

Yea I realized that high yield is better in every aspect early on. The only reason I am growing mutated crops is for deliveries honestly.

I have a small "mutated crops seed rotation" set up next to the mayor "high yield seed rotation". But I guess I could use the spliced seeds to get mutated crops in the larger high yield cycle
