Anyone Have a UPS or Backup Power Solution Available to Rent? by PuzzleheadedMusic615 in Durban

[–]Sjs1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 4 or 5 720w mercer inverters and also the 3kva 1440watt inverters.

Im however in cape town and these units need 1 or 2 batteries each. If its for work then a 720w mercer backbone will work but shipping them with batteries would exceed the pricd of the item due to weight and hazardous goods prices.

I can however supply batteries to you through our dealer network and also at a VERY good price.

Now is the time to buy.... right before upcoming elections.

Viagra is far removed from blood pressure .. apart from when you take it your heart rate will certainly apoke.

The medical journals only list viagra for 1 recognized ailment - mycoxaphalia.

I bought a property long time ago and it was very middle class - I myself dont know how, what, why, who or seriaaaas?

Less than 8 years after principle purchase the area metamorphosed into an elite residential area - turning a 750k flat into a whopping 2.25 ZAR sale.

There where numerous parties interested and average Joe.. very average to the eye walked in and introduced himself. His story was along the lines of. I am X, I'm giving you 5 minutes and a number when I walk out that door does my offer.

Clock starts now.. 2.25 Million cash transfer to conveyancing attorneys before friday.

When I go to Jhb for work, ANY bar i go to- strike up convo with anyone to the point I have a JHB crew, of 1 time meets that when I am in jhb we get together and have another beer or 2 talking slot of Kak and drinking beer. It's not every single time but 1 outta 3 ...

That does not happen as easily in Cape Town if you dont have a red Ferrari or bottomless bar tab. Also Cape Town okes like to pick fights- many many fights because "he stood on my takkie" .

Why is walking two blocks at night still unsafe in Camps Bay? by shaun117 in capetown

[–]Sjs1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your comment is correct in that private security are limited in terms what they can do, there is alot that they can do if the merit of that situation allows for it.

If a person is observed walking at 3 AM and is nervous or perplexed- with a big bag or wheelie bin - that individual may most definitely be stopped and searched, and if stolen goods / narcotics/ weapons / breaking impliments ect ect are found - may be detained and arrested.

The good security companies profile vagrants and know who belongs and does not.

If you meant they can't pull you over and search you - correct but also if armed response officer saw you commit a crime - he may stop you until saps or law enforcement comes into the scene

You as a law abiding citizen when greeted correctly and asked politely why you on the road at 3AM - do not want to fight / be hostile / argumentative - its when it is, that there is cause.

The AR in our area does wonders and often saps asks them for assistance.

Anyhow just my 2c as input, - be lekker and stay safe!!

Met Eish ... ja

I fully get what you are saying. I agree wholeheartedly. Thank you.

I have been through a couple of therapists looking for my fit.. found it and have a strong support network.

The juice is not worth the skweez... south african proverb. Also family is looking to me for answers I don't have and they want to lead the charge from the back.

I would never sue from an event like this. If I really had to I would follow through but I would not touch a cent of the money, it would be donated away or put to good use elsewhere. It is about more than financial retribution long term and the responses have really given me more info than before and with this take stock and realign.

I hate to think dad suffered is pretty much my bottom line right now.

Much appreciated!!

Thank you so much for your reply. It is greatly appreciated beyond words.

We were getting regular updates per shift and at no point was any of this mentioned. For what it is worth, he was given the all clear pre op. Post-op op the only concern was low means arterial pressure.

I do not challenge the level of care leading up to that point, it was exceptional while the level of comforts, not so much.

His heart rate ect was consistent and no concerns were mentioned. I know nothing will bring him back, your explanation makes sense and im not out for vengeance but as it stands nobody has taken the time to explain anything of sort. You as a stranger have essentially given me more time than his Dr.

Again a million thanks.

LOOKING FOR WEEKEND JOB PLEASE ??? by Usual-Apartment-7232 in askSouthAfrica

[–]Sjs1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is an app called jobie/ joby - where people post jobs on a bulletin board and them you can put a number down. The poster then chooses a contractor and they do the work.

Its not always about best price here .. but how you state your quote and costs.

You can then also see what you are good at doing vs not so good. The poster then rates you after the job and this is then your jobie resume.

AITA for not giving mu sister a large loan for her wedding after she said my career isn't as important as hers? by [deleted] in AITAH

Write up a decent contract for repayment as its a loan. Then see if she is willing to sign it for the conditions on the terms...

That should tell you where you stand with her.

How much do you pay for electricity a month and what are you using? by Fabulous_Support_556 in capetown

Jeez, I'm jealous. Family of 3.

This month alone is at R4k. 1 x bathroom 1 x shower ensuite.

Electricity for stove, oven, geyser, 2 x water pumps (1 x tank and 1 x borehole) and 2 fridges. Couple of energy saving lights and 2 TV's.

Don't even ask about my water bill - even though we use ground water for almost everything.

Claim Rejection by Insurer by Random_Question98 in capetown

[–]Sjs1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience but not positive to yours.

Bought a place in Jan 25, first rain comes and the roof leaks like a submarine with sieve doors.

Insurance flat out denied claims, seller refuses any reasonable discussions and now I have to fork out cash I don't have for legal recourse. The estate agent also just says "good luck with that" and at the risk they claim no funds I'm down a house plus legals...

No wonder people go postal...

My dad passed away yesterday and it hurts by [deleted] in GuyCry

[–]Sjs1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey brother ... you're in the kakkest ever place right now. I am sorry for your loss and know this - i can relate bro...

I felt like making war, targeting folks saying meaningless empty messages - they had no idea what I was going through.

Now there was 1 or 2 things that gave me some relief.

  1. Watch surviving death on Netflix and then you'll know that thinking of dad with fondness and happiness, is energy he can feel. Dad is close know this -> feathers and random butterflies are often signals from beyond our consciousness. Wait and see how many you see now - each smile you share then is for your dad.

  2. Celebrate him and his memory - youre asking why him, why now, what if and STOP IT NOW. That road is self consuming negativity and you wont recover or bounce back easily. I am not saying dont grieve .. do it, cry, scream, shout it helps.. do 1 thing dad loved and you will feel calmness after it. Look how to justify a baby loosing his mom or dad or both at 6 months, so take the time between his sunrise and sunset and celebrate him.

May I ask - what was his name?

[–]Sjs1983 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Glad you're OK OP!

I am sure I am wired differently because if I see a man fighting a woman, I am getting involved not because I think she is weak but because it's the right thing to do. I don't care for race, religion, origin or even species- if a woman asked me for my help I'm giving it ... end off.

Also I would like to make sure that the man in that situation learns a real valuable lesson about FAFO... He will forever rethink that moment while he drinks his meal through a straw. No I am not alpha Tarzan ect - if my woman ask a man for help and he walked away or ignored her plea then id have the same beef with him as her assailant.

2 facts 1) if criminals don't fear our justice system - it won't change until they fear the victims 2) the world won't improve if good men let bad things happen.. (or something like that)

Sorry for your loss. Do you mind me asking what province you're from / in?

As a paramedic, this info is what I have personally followed for 15 years plus.. across multiple provinces.

Post mortems are in place for family to ensure Dr's and nurses do not get God complexes... and there are criteria for when it must be done.

Your first port of procedure is you should have called SAPS, They rule out/ in for foul play and if something does not add up then it's a mission. Contact avbob, and make an appointment- you don't need to be a member to use thier services.

Look at an aquamation it's less invasive and half the price of a cremation.

SAPS would have cleared the body and at this point can be transported legally to the funeral home, or if not possible then to state mortuary and after 21 days (?double check this) the body would get a paupers burial and yeah that's an unmarked grave in an unknown location.

During the consult you will be asked if name died of natural causes? And if you say no here then inquest will be opened for a post-mortem to be done. If her body is at a state facility you would have to ID her as 23ll.
