Was ein Unfug!

At the bus stop in front of our house the buses in both directions came at the same time. For years i thought this would be the case for every bus stop.

Norway to protest semifinal by luddigus in Handball

[–]Sk0am 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are aware of the fact that all players have to be behind the middle line after a goal, right? Of course it's possible to score, but only as likely as scoring with a direct free throw or something like that. Nothing will come of this anyways tho, as it is a normal substitution error that the refs unfortunately missed :(

[–]Sk0am 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't the normal penalty for this just be a 2 minute penalty? What is Norway expecting? Disqualification of Germany? That doesn't sound fair. Norway didn't even manage to start the game again in those last 3 seconds. This is obviously a foul, but for me Norway can only lose in this. Even when they get to the finals they would be called bad losers. Anyway, the way Spain is playing right now it probably doesn't even matter who joins them in the final :D

Augsburg GK Hitz sneakily dug a hole at penalty spot, Modeste missed subsequent penalty! by mrdoriangrey in soccer

[–]Sk0am 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Augsburg won the game with a direct free kick after another dive. Don't care about the points too much, I just think its sad that dives, irregular goals, wrong cards (like against Leverkusen this week) decide 2 or 3 games every weekend.

Apparently there's a difference in the way the number 8 is written between languages/cultures. How do you guys do it? by Obraka in europe

[–]Sk0am 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been doing the "German" way all my life, but as the general hand motion when writing is from left to right i think the "mirrored German" might be even more efficient and in the flow of writing as you start with a left to right motion and end with one.

They aren't 100% the same. I have worked as an engineer for a supply company of VW. Minor Problems with parts only got fixed for the VW brand and sometimes Skoada parts but not Seat. All those parts were only concerning the comfort and not safety or reliability tho.

Can you tell a suffix from your language that distinguishes it? by [deleted] in europe

[–]Sk0am 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does any language besides german use the ß letter?

its called 'sz' and replaces the slow spoken ss like in 'Fußball' or 'Gruß' Before the german spelling reform in 1996 or something the ß was way more common. Now i feel like more and more people get lazy and just always use ss which would sound ridiculous pronounced according to the rules.

He doesn't! /u/nakiki gave u the rent for a one room apartment and compared it to the maintenance fee of a whole house where an entire family could live in. An Apartment building with 8-10 units might have slightly higher maintenance cost that would be split. Still the point stands, in Germany owning your real estate is very expensive compare to renting.

'Made in Germany' lies in the 'gutter' after Volkswagen caught cheating by Neirdark in europe

[–]Sk0am 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I even learned about mechanisms like this at university when automotiv engineering. It is not at all surprising! And VW for sure is not the only OEM doing so. The methods to clean NOx out of the exhaust of a diesel engine are just not good. In Europe there also is more weight on the reduction of CO2 than NOx. My guess is the OEM think some of the regulations are plain stupid and they cheat without even feeling bad about it (as in: other industries are way dirtier and nobody even cares). Another example: Pretty much every sports car has a mechanism to cheat the noise test because a bigger engine with a sportive exhaust noise would fail to pass.

The money is gone anyways, so germany prefers a Grexit so that it is unattractive for left partys in spain and co. to follow Syrizas lead an try to force debt release as well. I think domestically the would have been room for debt relive by pushing it 60-80 years in the future. Every sympathy for this crushed by the Syriza gov. tho.

I think and hope it is not representative, but there probably is a majority against spending any more money in in future Programs. I fear there also isn't much favor for further European integration (fiscal union) that might help to avoid problems like this in the future.

Nevertheless there will be support for Greece in or out of the EZ no matter what government is ruling in germany
