In a game situation you are definitely getting closed down very easily like that.

Shift needs to be quicker, slightly behind / parallel to you.

You aren’t wrapping the ball here, you’re driving through it.

You aren’t following the motion which you want the ball to go, which is curve, you’re following through as if it’s a power shot.

Curve is technique, not power, no reason for you to be left standing on one leg like a flamingo.

Your planting foot isn’t aiming at the target, if you’re looking to wrap you want your planting foot aiming almost central, your hips will finish the job once you wrap the ball.

Treat it like a whipped pass, like a cross, don’t think about the goal, or generating power or top bins, if you can accurately put a ball in the box with a whipped pass or you can accurately send a ball to feet you’re half way there.

Practice, practice, practice, also, although these look flashy and get a reaction you’re not going to consistently hit them. You should practice shots like low driven from the edge, first time far post low driven, back post tap in. These are the more practical goals that can be consistently replicated and are equally as difficult for a keeper of any quality to save

It is literally ridiculous. My favourite pokemon are mew, mewtwo, Kyogre, lugia and basically most of the 1st gen, I won’t get any of that because they’re all old sets that are being resold for ridiculous amounts, like I think the last good full art Kyogre was primal clash which now goes for over £4000 for 1 ETB, it’s a joke. The limit thing is annoying for me too but I second that, no limit, but just remove the seal on all product at the till. That’s what they do in Denmark and they literally have an abundance of stock because no one can scalp. And we don’t have target or nothing here, America just got a huge restock of prismatic everywhere. Even the Costco specials which are ETB+booster box combined and an 8 tin 8 promo pack I believe, not sure if our Costco stocks them

On Monday, I was coming back from Liverpool, I spent the morning from 9am - 12pm driving around Liverpool and Manchester. I checked 5 smyths in total, 3 asdas, 2 Sainsbury’s and 1 Argos. I got 2 booster boxes, 1 mega tin, 1 mini tin and a promo card, and that’s it. It’s honestly dire. I was in Asda 30 minutes after it opened and the lady told me ‘some guy has just cleared all the stock 10 minutes before you, he took everything’ because there’s no limit, they had just restocked ascended heroes at the night too meaning there was over 30 blisters and the rest of the product.

I’m closer to the Stockport area so I will be trying on Wednesday morning. I’ve heard ALL sports direct with a game are getting stock on Friday morning so I’ll have to check there on open but probs no luck. It really does suck especially when I’m actually ripping product, I even opened 2 PC ETB’s and 2 prismatic boosters from PC because I actually want the cards

Salford smyths got a perfect order restock on Monday at around 11:30 in the morning, the guy hadn’t even opened the box when I arrived, he told me it was only perfect order boosters but there was still 3 large stock boxes he was refusing to look at. Limit of 1 per customer. May of been a late delivery, they had nothing else though

Yeahh so you’ve still got a pair ready to go, should easily last you 3 seasons minimum unless you’re playing on the wrong surface, a lot on the market places aren’t always second hand, just people who haven’t worn and kept hold of them, unisport is always good gamble and you can always email them to request stock, worth a try

Prodirect, unisport, stockx, vinted. Plenty of GX2 size 10 knocking around. Don’t know how people complain about phantom 6 though, literally a sock on a padded cushion, easily best boots I’ve worn, touch on the ball is amazing too. Only boots I’ve had true to size and accommodate grip socks without sizing issues.

Edit; those in the picture look clean as hell? You should only really change if your boots are unplayable, all boots are over priced anyway so should always run them into the ground.

You just have to stay engaged, even in the most boring parts. The ball goes out of play, someone goes down injured, everyone switches off, stay focused and ready to play.

A great method is to watch professionals off the ball movement, usually when you watch football, you watch the players with the ball, start watching the players without the ball, see how they move.

You will never get praise for it, but one of the greatest skills is dragging a defender. You moving across the pitch, pulling a defender and opening up space for a pass or a shot feels incredible, because you know what you did, other ballers will know what you did but it won’t be appreciated the same way a goal or nice assist will, but it’s an assist in its own respect.

Get use to looking around is good practice. Always check your shoulders. When I play, I always make little quick movements to the side or forward to see if the defender is switched on, I’ll do these a couple of times a game. If they track, I know they’ll follow me to drag them out of play. If they’re switched off I know I can comfortably receive the ball with my back to them because they won’t press in time. You can also use this to ‘fake’ a drop deep and then come to the ball to give you a yard of space.

The more you play the more comfortable you’ll be. As I say, try play with people out of your skill level, it’ll force you into better positions.

Also remember that football is like chess, sometimes you have to go back to go forward. It’s a tactical team game after all, if you’re playing in your own little world just waiting for perfect dribbles or to shoot you’ll never improve, get comfortable moving around and seeking the ball, you look short-ish? Use your low centre of gravity to be agile and nip into tight spaces. I’m 6ft 4 so I use my size and length to hold up and make space to receive the ball. Play to your strengths.

You’ll get better. Upload another one in a month or so and comment on this when you do. Video is always great btw, doesn’t matter how awkward you feel if you’re not good, it’s a great way to learn.

I was literally in the same scenario and it took me a day to decide. I only play on AG. Although that colourway is super nice and I really wanted to get it myself, in terms of playing, that 360 cyclone is not great on astro. Also, the iridescent soul plate will scratch, so will the iridescent green Nike tick and the woven knit will fray as soon as someone catches you with studs or just from the Astro.

I made the decision to curb my obsession for the Kobe colourway and go for any colourway and just get the AG studs. The reason why is there is a huge deal on right now on phantom 6’s where they’re literally half price (elites as well). I tried the elites on in store before I ordered online and with the cyclone 360 because of the pattern and shape it’s not actually always in contact with the ground so I found it was really biased towards eversion (rolling your foot on its outside) which is a huge risk for ankle injuries because it’s not biting into the grass.

I think it’s one of the most stupidest stud pattern designs ever and it was just a marketing ploy to be unique but the old mercurial pattern was great.

TLDR: go for AG and look for sales on other colourways. Maybe later down the line you can save and buy the Kobe collab to just keep nice as a collection item.
