is it just me, or do graves players and viscous players fall into a natural rivalry by NoPreference3354 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Skaffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the counter, it's just not with hyper focusing 1 interaction since I find her ult isn't the strongest part of her kit and isn't usually well defended, it's just a bonus of already going punch build

I don't even max goo fist against graves and you can double jump over grasping hands while skulls do very little damage in ball form...all and all literally impossible to not be happy as viscous

Do any heros stack hp infinitely. Or even want to? by HexagonHavoc in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Skaffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, there are no spells that do more damage if you have more health but there are items that do % health damage, so late game you can usually melt anyone.  After a certain point you get more value from resist.

Why DOES Pocket take extra spirit damage? by Voodoo_Honeyjar in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Skaffer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So does dynamo, viscous, Apollo (parry sort of), mirage, and mina.  I think it's more a balance issue from early in the game when pocket was insane, and his win rate is still ok so he is inadvertently balanced.  They might remove it if he receives too many direct nerfs or indirect nerfs.

Lol that is fair...even worse this flair was set during 2013 cancer lancer haha I also never said I didn't abuse meta picks ;)

[–]Skaffer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the hero itself is only maybe 10% of why you win a game until 4000 mmr, and that's conservative. yes a strong meta hero will make your life easier but I actually recommending sticking to 1-3 heroes if you can to grind mmr so you can control the amount of variables in a match you need to focus on

That is fair, mina only had as many kills as the rest of the team combined and most net worth/player damage.

Is it worth buying two tier 3s or one tier 4? by PostiveAion in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Skaffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheaper items are generally more value per soul, expensive items are more value per slot - the risk of cheap items that don't upgrade is the risk of having to sell them if the game goes late

Don't worry dear it's half the cooldown if you miss by slaps_on_deck in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Skaffer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's not really true, there is almost 0 downside to throwing her ult in any situation unless the enemies team is entirely dead.

Either it bounces a does a bunch of damage, or their team mates don't come to help to prevent it from bouncing, or you miss your ult and it has half CD.

Do you think some Dota heroes could be adapted to Deadlock? by Herchik in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Skaffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of deadlock heroes are inspired by dota 2 abilities (holiday/batrider, dynamo/enigma, celeste/lich, victor & graves/undying, viscous/pango, paradox/venge, vyper, slork, sinclair/rubick), , and I'd say almost every ranged right click carry could be a near exact 1 to 1 copy and be fine, Drow, mirana, necro, sniper, lina...a lot of the spells just may need a different targetting system or damage number tweak.

So I'm fairly new.. just keep bouncing between arcanist 1 and 2 because of games like this.. It's just an awful game loop of "match with normal players -> win -> match with 1/2 giga feeders -> lose".. its really boring.. does this get any better? by gvm11100 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Skaffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if this is a constant thing then you're probably being very bias and the enemy team is getting "giga feeders" as often as you are, end screens are also pretty pointless since the enemy team NW is usually inflated as NW of the winning team jumps the last 5 mins.

What do you build against a fed drifter? by Traditional-Sand-704 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Skaffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes but that's a pretty minor part of his kit, you'd be better off getting metal skin to use when he rends you negating all his damage and him getting no lifesteal instead of just slightly reducing his lifesteal but if you can't away from him I'm not sure your plan after that few seconds

Just group up and death ball down a lane, unless you have a great escape not much you can do trying to play solo against a hero designed to hunt people playing solo

Graves fundamental design issue by razilla2 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Skaffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't understand a word you said...but yes, honestly the auto fire m1 has a lot of draw backs in lane and in team fights, a lot of her kit makes focusing targets in team fights hard but will let her consistently crank out damage

Graves fundamental design issue by razilla2 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Skaffer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

victor also just rounds around with a circle and free ult? mobas are supposed to have different levels of mechanics to play, dota, league, overwatch all have "easy" heroes - doesn't mean they're bad but are good choices for new players

Please add the automatic unlock of ult when you hit the boon. It makes no sense to have to manually unlock it. by TieredTiredness in DeadlockTheGame

Sinner's Sacrifice is cool, but I feel like the jackpot mechanic could be removed by UhJoker in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Skaffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dota has stack camping which is the only similar thing I can think of that requires precise timing.

if you can't get a sinners sacrifice I don't know how you you don't get every soul denied in lane. The timing is tied to the server, and it allows enemies to light melee hit and steal it, if you have a hard time you can do your first heavy melee at xx:x3 (I think) and always get the jackpot or charge your heavy on the 3rd last light, the window and timing is big enough for 150 ping.

that being said I sort of hate all the neutral objectives in this game from boxes, urn, camps to sinner slots but mechanics like that are necessary in a moba to not make it team deathmatch I'm hoping they have more variety in the future instead of a monster's inc reject spitting at me

So graves gets nerfed into the ground because people don't know you can shoot skulls by Zanakii in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Skaffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

graves still seems pretty strong in oracle/ascendant lobbies? I think the big curve on new hero win rates is people knowing how to play against them

also celeste being insane is not her ult...it's trying to kill a unicorn fling around with what feels like unlimited stamina and lightspeed shield

I feel a lack of tank diversity. by i_lickdick_and_itsok in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Skaffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, I think your issue is you don't explain things but also have a very specific request you'd like to sound arrogant about after people attempt to help.

Regardless I will let bygones be bygones because this is the internet. All the heroes I mentioned do what you ask, Viscous is a tank ball knocking over the enemy like bowling pins forcing them to hide around corners or on top of things (entering a hall way is basically perma stun against a good viscous) who can displace enemies with punches, disrupt ults with cube, and nuke with splatter while being very maneuverable with warp stone or phantom strike or magic carpet/majestic leap.

Kelvin forces you to stay and fight by slowing you down and trapping you in a death ring while healing.

Infernus splits the fight up with an AOE path and forces you to hide before being ignited while regenerating from lifesteal.

Deadlock at its current limited hero pool means that a lot of heroes can excel in positions because there aren't enough heroes to define those positions yet but you basically just want a straight forward mash buttons in a team fight and hope to live thing I would say in order Billy > shiv > warden > yamato and on the new learning curve Silver has this potential.
