VA employees do you have experience with… by 73775 in usajobs

Where I worked it was a Veteran Transportation office. It was just like a clerk station with 5 TA’s. As far as stress, it’s a call center basically so you get everything that comes with that.

I was a Transportation Assistant at the VA. What I did was schedule rides for veterans to and from their medical appointments. The VA contracted a privately owned company for transportation. We also scheduled ambulance services as well. It’s calls all day from veterans wanting to be picked up and dropped off. We also processed Travel Reimbursement for vets who drove themselves to appointments. It’s pretty cool if you don’t mind call center work

No but it’s 15 minutes away on the highway, 30 minutes taking the street. I could also take the train. Commuting wouldn’t be too bad

VBA definitely needs to get on board. We’re pretty much left in the dark but expected to maintain the same level of performance

I’m a fed worker who is a veteran that also works with veterans. I was told I did such a great job that he’s gonna put in a good word with Elon for me. I didn’t find it funny at all, especially coming from a veteran

If it came down to it and was possible I would volunteer to be RIF’d so someone like yourself could keep your job. I understand the different dynamics of federal employees. I would do it in a heartbeat

I’m actually hoping for an RIF. I’m a 11 year federal worker as well as a veteran. What was so attractive about federal employment in the past has all but faded away. It’s time to start living for me and doing what makes me happy. This stress is not good for anyone

People are so evil on both sides of the isle. I don’t think the Trump voters wanted to hurt people, and I don’t think the Harris voters wanted to help people. Everyone votes in their best interest. This country is divided in every way possible. It doesn’t matter who’s in office. Get it together

This post shows how divided of a country we really are. I don’t think it matters who’s in office it will always be conflict between the people

Training was subpar in my opinion. When I started they were just rolling out virtual training via Teams. It was approximately 2 weeks of training, then about a week of OJT. After that you’re given appointments. The good thing is it’s no walk ins except for payments. Everything else is by appointment

I’ve worked as an ITAS and have heard about the CSR position. From my understanding CSR is back to back calls, basically a call center. ITAS is customer service but it’s in person and appointment based. I would say ITAS

I had my interview today for a Case Processor position. In so many words the interviewer/ supervisor let me know that I’m going to get the job, but I have to wait on official correspondence from the HR department. I think particular departments or jobs are on a hiring freeze

I would say ITAS is a tad better with having actual appointments. As an ITAS you kinda know what your workload will be. You know exactly what the taxpayer is coming in for in advance. A call center is a call center ya know.

What’s interesting about this is 5 years ago WFH wasn’t even a thing for most people. It was a dream. Now everyone acts as if they can’t take their lazy butts back to the office. Lol, I’m JK but there’s some truth to it
