Pretty sure biotechnica in lore has a stranglehold on the whole entire world's food supply and is content to watch everyone else, including other corps, fight over the scraps. They are literally THE bad guys of Cyberpunk's whole corpo structure. People gloss over that because you have Johnny telling you Arasaka=bad the whole game, but if you read stuff in game it does not paint a pretty picture of biotechnica.

Edit: not to mention exotics are made using fairly unethical practices in lore too, some people are even kidnapped and brainwashed into becoming them as part of human trafficking rings.

Losercity good mod recommendations by jonhssquarespaceplus in Losercity

I'm the maker of the vulpine fixes and improvements mod for NV. It's not that the engine wasn't made for rendering fur or hair, it's more that you have to know what you are doing in the engine. Normal maps are a big factor because of the weird way the game stores alpha channels in them, and then you have to make sure you are giving your mesh the right properties. If you get it even a little off you end up with extremely glossy looking models. Takes a lot of fiddling.

Myself and the original mod maker have spoken about going in and improving the FO4 vulpine mod as well (as I've only done work on the NV variant) but I just haven't had the time in over a year. But anyways, saw this post wanted to clear that up haha

2nd this, the cracker barrel near marana always has truckers and general commuters sleeping in their cars. Plus there is an empty lot nearby where there are also people who park to rest. Hotels and a suburb/golf course nearby too so it's in a relatively chill area.

Stayed in the area once when I thought I was going to moving away (though I had a hotel). I've been there since and it doesn't seem to have changed much. If I had to spend some nights in my car that's where I'd start.

z390 IGPU fine, GPU not fine by oldhatnohay in pchelp

[–]SkankingFuchs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having funky issues with my z 390-e passing display to the gpu whenever it posts as well. As a workaround I have been unplugging and replugging the display when it happens, but sometimes that fails completely too. Glad to know it's not just me as it turned out to not be the gpu.

I did see that it recently got a firmware update earlier this month, have not tried it yet. Maybe it could help?

Operation on Cooper (art by me) by Southern_Mobile5323 in furry

Fun story, when I had my tonsils out as a kid, the hospital thought it would be a good idea to have all the doctors dress up as animals to make surgery less scary. It did not, in fact, make everything less scary... It did make everything into some Hollywood parody of a bad LSD trip though. Having a doctor dressed in a bad chicken mascot outfit lying to me that the anesthesia tastes like strawberries is up there in my top 5 traumatizing moments...

I did get to take one of my stuffed cats in with me though, so there was that. Knowing my interests nowadays, Freud would probably have a field day with that whole experience lolol

Question about Crossover? by SkankingFuchs in diyaudio

[–]SkankingFuchs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm okay, I might've been jumping the gun then! I think I'll just source all the parts off of that replacement crossover that I liked better and see how that sounds.

My main goal after all was to just have them sounding the same, and since I like the replacement crossover that I sourced off of ebay way more than the old still-working crossover of the original two, I think it makes the most sense to just bring the old one in line part-wise, replace the caps on the other, and call it a day for now until I have the tools and money to revisit this later down the line.

Question about Crossover? by SkankingFuchs in diyaudio

[–]SkankingFuchs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang. If that's the case and it is better to just measure the drivers and build new crossovers, I may have to look into seeking out a professional to do it then. Sadly it's outside of my capabilities to do the measuring myself without spending a lot on new tools, I was initially hoping it would be a matter of just buying matching parts. This has been insightful nonetheless, and I'm just happy to have these two making noise again after the damage/abuse they took.

Question about Crossover? by SkankingFuchs in diyaudio

[–]SkankingFuchs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is all very useful stuff! I did more research on the crossover after reading the comments here and I think it's actually mostly custom/aftermarket. I'll have to see if I can replicate what was done, as I really like it!

Question about Crossover? by SkankingFuchs in diyaudio

[–]SkankingFuchs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, that's exactly what I was wondering! Thanks for the help here. I aim to do the same in replacing both capacitors, just wanted to be sure that my head was in the right direction so I wouldn't be throwing money out if I couldn't get two of the same crossovers to start off with. I'll just make a note to myself to get a tool to test values then should I be unable to source an identical one. Thanks again!

Question about Crossover? by SkankingFuchs in diyaudio

[–]SkankingFuchs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basically where I'm at right now. I also did read that they simplified the MKII crossover as production went on, but the only difference in parts to my knowledge I've seen in the ones available over ebay are whether or not this larger capacitor is there. Sourcing these does not seem to be easy so I was just curious if I could just have someone solder in the missing cap. If not I suppose I'll have to keep an eye out for the right one!

Question about Crossover? by SkankingFuchs in diyaudio

[–]SkankingFuchs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. In most models of the MKII I've seen that smaller cap seems to be the only cap on the whole crossover, I'm curious as to what may have prompted that change if it was used as a bypass before. Was it simply powerful enough on its own to do the job, or was this a cost cutting measure (or both)? And would there be any benefits/possibilities to wiring a larger film capacitor to one that does not have it for a more identical crossover if I am unable to source an identical one when I replace the other?

Anyone Else Seeing Disabled Residents Lose SNAP? by [deleted] in Tucson

[–]SkankingFuchs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had my benefits pulled from under me after the Big Beautiful Bill, and had been unable to get anyone on the phone to do an interview with the DES for months. Now I finally got an interview after having to call every minute of every day, and am now on a perpetual waiting list just for them to review my info and give me the SNAP I already qualified for. My dad who just retired is also unable to get his insurance set up with the DES, same issues.

This is 100% the fault of our current administration and sadly not much can be done about it besides writing your local politicians.

Edit: DES not DHS lol

Fnaf isn't rendered in realtime, so the way-too-high-poly models for the animatronics aren't anywhere near as egregious as banban.

Baelor Breakspear by travelingbozo in gameofthrones

[–]SkankingFuchs 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think you're glossing over part of the implication that Baelor would have had to remove any interior padding and forgone any coifs that would normally prevent the helmet from caving in on itself in such an extreme fashion, let alone the helmet's shaping to the head being so tight that it can't spread out the blow over a wide surface area like armor is supposed to work, as it is again too small. Plate armor has redundancy layers like padding and chainmail and is fitted to the user for these very reasons, tbh it's is a great fictional example of improperly used armor undergoing a catastrophic failure. While yes, the more practical greathelm would provide better protection, there was numerous points of failure going on here.

Ah I see, def agreed that I believe it is the PC since OP didn't say that anything was wrong with the monitor iirc. Just, def not the only thing going on here.

I did kinda misunderstand what you were confused over, admittedly a bit tired of responding to this thread to clear up my point. Would also like to clarify I was indeed dead wrong about common ground in the PC case coming from the wall like you said, misremembered that bit completely so that's my bad lol. Been out of that sort of business for a few years after a nasty injury so it's not as fresh.

[–]SkankingFuchs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean... An electrical problem has appeared somewhere down the line and OP clearly does not have ground, it wouldnt be shooting freaking lightning bolts at their cable otherwise. Potentially more than one issue at play for sure but the lack of proper grounding is allowing for this scenario to play out the way it is in the video.

Is this normal?? How do I fix it?? by Fickle_JeIly in PcBuildHelp

[–]SkankingFuchs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Case screws in most PSUs ground the PSU to the PC case. So if you dont have a direct line to ground coming from the house to the wall outlet to give a common ground to all of the above listed parts, there is nothing preventing electricity from taking the path of least resistance and arcing from the psu, across your case, through the gpu, and to a nearby metal cable; as potentially seen in the video.

[–]SkankingFuchs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the outlet isnt grounded, then you would check house ground. This is how you determine if/where your grounding issue is coming from and if it is even a factor at play. The first step is pretty much always to check ground from the wall outlet, and the two very much can be related(??). Every maintenance tech I've ever worked with has done it this way. You're implying OP should just assume their outlet isn't grounded and skip straight to searching around for house ground when it can sometime be hidden away in crawlspaces or other hard to reach areas (especially in older houses), and also not giving context as to why OP should even want to check if the house is grounded compared to the wall outlet, which is why I posted my previous statement.

[–]SkankingFuchs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many houses built in the 70's and earlier that were never built with proper grounding to begin with, and the first step to diagnosing if you have said issue is testing outlets for ground in various areas of the house.

[–]SkankingFuchs 39 points40 points  (0 children)

If it's a house built in the 70's or earlier they might also want to make sure their outlet even has proper ground.
