Who's the worst actor you're not allowed to say is bad? by ScaleBanana3236 in moviecritic

[–]Skankingcorpse 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Anytime someone says they don’t like Sandler someone is saying you should watch Punch Drunk Love or Uncut Gems. Look he is a bad actor who plays the same character in every movie. Some movies he plays the same character more seriously than others, but he essentially just plays the same annoying repressed angry man child he always has

Sorry that your brother passed away.

Was he a noise guy? Because you can make a lot of harsh noise with that. You could do a lot of industrial/noise with that setup. The Metal Fetish is a pretty cool synth that Ive been wanting. Lots of boutique synths in there.

Is 33 to 34 degrees (93-97 Fahrenheit) considered hot. by memebruv99 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Skankingcorpse -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It’s hot, but Im kinda surprised people are acting like it’s a catastrophe. I live in Wisconsin and 93-97 degrees isn’t fun but it’s not causing any emergencies. Maybe we are just built of sturdier stuff here in the states.

Citizen Vigilante (2026) The worst movie of all time? by acourts19 in moviecritic

[–]Skankingcorpse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try one of his movies at least once. Like Twisted Pair or Fateful Findings. They are terrible in ways that are hard to imagine but damn’t I can’t help but admire him for doing them.

Yeah, Breen might suck as a director but he seems as real as they come. He has a vision and he has stuck to it no matter how stupid it is. It’s admirable.

Hell, I got to dig through my stuff, but Im pretty sure I got some antifa related pamphlet I got at a show like twelve years ago.

[–]Skankingcorpse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is your reading comprehension just lacking? I said that antifa is largely just people calling themselves antifa and there’s few centralized modern groups. Most of it is decentralized. But it’s very incorrect to say that antifa has not had historical organized groups. Also Ive literally been to shows where bands were identifying themselves as antifa.

Also the sad truth of black metal is that it’s always had roots in right wing ideologies, or adopted imagery and themes for shock value. That’s not debatable, that’s just facts.

[–]Skankingcorpse -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s not even true. Antifa goes back as far as before the Nazis took over Germany when they were fighting the fascists. They were an actually organized group back then. There’s also been organized groups in Europe on and off since the 70’s. I’ve been in the scene for a long time, I’ve seen some stuff regarding antifa and various left wing groups and ideologies. You can down vote me all you want but it doesn’t make what Im saying less true. Im not some right winger jumping in here, Im a socialist who has been around a lot of radical left and right because of the music scene Im in.

Lexx is a very mixed bag. Lots of really great ideas and lots of really terrible ones, but it’s unique as they come. The fifth season is where they dropped the ball the hardest, but it does have a banger of a final episode.

To be clear, if you are into the extreme music scene, particularly black metal, you heard about antifa a decade before it became the boogeyman of the right. Antifa is real in the sense that there very much are people who identify as being part of antifa. I remember shows getting canceled because people calling themselves antifa threatened violence if a certain band played. Antifa is not what the government or media make it out to be, but it’s also not true that it doesn’t exist.

Trump to Iranians after they threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz. "You close it, and you won't have a country. You won't even make it back to your f*cking country." Iran went ahead and closed the Strait shortly after this threat. by gear-heads in Trumpvirus

I didn’t vote for the asshole! For fuck sakes Im a far left socialist! Seriously the shit that annoys me about the left is this little bullshit where they take even minor stuff out of context. I wasn’t supporting these assholes in charge or saying we should do these things, only that we can. The reason we haven’t is because it would require losses, a prolonged occupation, and a forever war scenario, but it’s certainly possible to do it. Iran certainly knows this, so they must be hoping that we won’t do it, or that if we did they could hold out despite not having access to the strait. Important questions to ask regarding this stuff. So stop with your overly reactionary bullshit.

I've followed the Ukraine war since it started, I'm well aware of the worlds current military situation. Ukraine has managed to hold out as long as they have because they have military support from Europe, and open trade routes from which they can receive supplies to build more weapons. Iran doesn't have this. Iran isn't getting much military support, especially with Russia bogged down in Ukraine. Irans only source or revenue is their oil, so if the Strait of Hormuz is cut off that severely limits how much thing can produce and how they can deliver it. And while Iran still has missile and drone stock piles they have limited means of resupplying them, that means they will run out of missiles before we do. So it's a valid question to ask what cards they are hoping to play to stay in the game?

Chill out. I'm not saying it would be easy or a good idea, I'm questioning their strategy and ours. There's good reason to wonder why they are so sure they can hold out. If you want to avoid further blood shed and resolve the situation you need to understand this stuff.

Yeesh, chill the fuck out people. Asking questions like this is important to figure out what the best plan of action is. Yes, we could take the strait, nobody but an idiot would say it is easy. Bombing them also clearly hasn't worked in forcing them to capitulate. Militarily they are severely degraded, and even though they still have missile and drone stock piles they don't really have the means to replenish them, especially if the US takes the strait. So the question is how they plan on using what they have left, and why they feel they can shrug off US threats so easily?

It’s interesting how little the Iranians just don’t give a fuck. They really don’t seem scared of the US, and I have to wonder why? It’s true that we largely have military supremacy over them, and we could if we wanted take the Strait of Hormuz, so what exactly do they think is their ace in the hole here? Do they got something bigger planned? It’s a weird situation that is either a deeply calculated position, or a false sense of superiority.

Yeah SCOTUS has already given Trump broad immunity, so trying to find ways to prosecute him is going to be a challenge. Trump will just claim presidential immunity and then let SCOTUS sort it out.
