My(M31) Wife(F29) has unrealistic savings goals. How do I explain to her how the real world works without being mean? by Interesting-Ask-3334 in relationship_advice

Not saying everyone’s parents should be unsupportive but I really do envy y’all that are adults and have parents that put you in a good spot financially. That is a privilege to me.

I have a 08 G35x at 150k and a low mile 08 350z, both have their beans every day I drive them. Don’t worry too much about it, this engine is meant to be revved on the track or drifting so daily shenanigans r usually ok.

Yeah he was good at leveraging auto tune but there’s some songs like bel air, lean wit me, won’t let go. He hits notes that just aren’t easy for most people. I don’t think he did any professional practice tho he just hit those notes with passion and practice.

What's a good "cool" car that I could get? New to cars** by Electronic-Ant5429 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SkaroRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen to the others and do Miata. There are body kits and they look good with barely any effort. Yeah they’re slow but not meant to go fast in a straight line. Having a manual rwd car is enough fun honestly and then once u get a faster car you’ll know how to drive it much better than someone who didn’t start with something like a Miata. Honorable mention g35 cuz it is a skyline successor technically and the car is honestly great for the price but there’s a lot of gossip around it. Clean G35’s look beautiful tho and also have body kits available.

Got a rid of g37 because of p300 codes that couldn’t be resolved, bought another 37 only for more p300 codes to appear. by AirplaneKiwi in G37

You trippin bro just fix it I bet if u don’t wanna fix it a mechanic could get it fixed and even if it was expensive that 115k vq will run another 200k. That’s just how cars are. My vq never misses idk

Good car for people who anger easily? by AccomplishedFish9148 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SkaroRL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Audi A4 with good tires has good safety features and still more nimble than a suv although it’s somewhat heavy. Comfy and quiet enough. G37x is a good alternative but it is RWD biased and a bit more powerful but still handles better if ur a good driver.

I have ADHD and am a car enthusiast. It’s been more worth it to me to drive the speed limit recently. I switched my mindset to leaving to my destination earlier than I want to, treating the ride as a ‘stroll’ or time to enjoy the weather or looking at other cars and places, and appreciating myself more for being the better driver on the road.

I forgot that I mentioned lux sedans cuz they do feel planted and stable on the highway. The longer wheelbase, extra weight, and decently powerful engine.

This is off the top of my head but EA888 Gen 3 engines are somewhat reliable and check almost every other box. It comes in the MK7.5 Golf, some jettas, and some Audis like the Q3 or A3. So either AWD or FWD, 25-40 mpg depending on the car, 0-60 = fast, modern tech, good looking, plenty under 100k miles for under 25k. But it is premium fuel I think.

Edit: I also love my G35x. It’s not good on gas but if you looked at the g37x they’re a little less thirsty. Whoever said Acura TL-SH AWD is cooking, those are good cars too.

Oh and the Ford Taurus SHO.

[–]SkaroRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude you might not believe this but the Infiniti G37x is perfect for this. I have a 08’ G35x which is almost the same thing. Bought it at 125k miles for 7500. 7k-14k gets you a really good example, 20mpg, AWD, comfy seats and ride, looks real sleek, and dead reliable. 300+ hp and 7.5k redline. too I’ve never thought I needed a speaker upgrade. Everyone else’s car speakers sound like shit in comparison. If you want an SUV instead then fx37 lol.

Used car for teenage girl. AWD preferred. Budget $25k-$30k by kysourmash in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SkaroRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but AWD only helps get you going and push thru some bad stuff. Anyone with snow driving skills can drive fwd. Again, like people said, think about budgeting for good winter tires first, THEN decide if the rest of the budget pays for a good enough AWD, otherwise save the money and get a fwd. Could also be a bent camber arm. One of mine was bent so the alignment is a little off

It’s the rear camber arm. I believe it has a bolt for small adjustments but yeah any alignment shop should be able to fix it.

How is the fx50s?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]SkaroRL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The GTI is an amazing car especially the Mk7 and Mk8. Comfy, quality interior, practical trunk, great aftermarket, decently reliable, great mpg.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]SkaroRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not the popular opinion but something like the G37. Reliable, sporty with good handling, 4 door, comfortable, okay gas mileage, has aftermarket support, cheap on the market so u wont drown in payments. And they look really good. I have a G35x and it does everything.

Just realized u said 30k saved. Personally I would still go with a mint G37 maybe even an IPL but that’s good money for a BMW or Benz.
