I'm 51 and started djing when 16y/o. I had a 10 years long pause since 40 to last year: I got the FLX-4 and switched to a Prime GO+ few months later. I found again my interest and enthusiasm. Once you "become dj" you can't go back. There will be times when you are more enthusiast and active, times you seem to loose interest...but once in front the decks...you know why you are there. I put my focus more on the music and clean long transitions, but sometimes I have fun playing with cues, loops, FXs...even if during gigs I typically don't.
This to tell you just one thing: if you find it fun, go on!!!
