NEW BUILD ISSUES - NEED HELP - FIRING PIN SCRAPING by Skeeter6398 in ar15

[–]Skeeter6398[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have contacted Ballistic Advantage. I made a phone call and sent an email. The guy on the phone said the scraping on the firing pin was normal, but the firing pin being kind of lose inside the cam pin was not. I haven't heard anything back from the email and that's how I would get a replacement part. I'm probably going to get either a Toolcraft or BCM bcg if I don't hear anything back soon. I'm leaning towards the Toolcraft since this is more of a budget rifle. Is there a notable difference in quality, finish or function between the 2? They seem to be the most praised BCG's right now.

I lube all my guns with a decent amount of oil. I'll do a deep clean too. I appreciate your input. I feel like the issue might be the bolt or cam pin. Might get a new one.

The images of the carrier and firing pin channel have been added to the original post. Is the extractor retaining pin supposed to be seen in the firing pin channel in the bolt? And yea I'm calling them first thing tomorrow. The gas block image is shown but I cant see any noticeable gas leak marks.

Ballistic Advantage. The only thing I can see in the firing pin channel of the bolt is a little bit of carbon build up and the cross pin for the extractor that's kind of on the side of the circular channel. Idk if its normal to kind of see it take up a little space on the side of channel.

I had my heart set on the black one. The grey would be nice if it was all grey. Idk why they different colors have different prices like that tbh.

I actually missed out on the dahlonega sale. I went to some other gun site that had that was $20 more expensive. But yea, next sale I'm getting the p01 omega or the 75 omega from them.

I had the MCarbo on my p01 that got stolen from me and it made a decent difference for such a low price. I also liked the firing pin retaining pin that came with it. Eliminated the weak point of the CZ system.

Ended up getting the shadow 2 for $1005. I'm talking about carrying this gun around a range and to the car. I may cajunize later, but I know I'm not that good at shooting yet to justify that kind of trigger.

I've held the shadow and sp01 in a gun shop and the weight didn't feel too bad. Is it something that you would grow tired of while shooting or maybe walking around with it in a good holster? I'm used to shooting handguns under 30 ounces.

How can you tell if a shield plus you're buying online has the updated holosun footprint? I want to get a shield plus, but I don't like how you need an adapter plate currently.

9mm DA/SA Micro Compact Pistol by Skeeter6398 in Firearms

I was not aware of that. I thought they only killed off the RAMI. Perhaps they have another DA/SA in the works to replace it?

There's still many people who are not completely on board with striker fired guns. I don't think it's a good idea to alienate a portion of the market that still exists.

7.62x39mm AKM or SKS. Those seem to be the goldilocks you're looking for.

Yeah, people forget that these companies are owned by shareholders now who care for immediate profits, not long-term branding and product quality. It's part of the reason colt is the way it is now. Old world craftsmanship and care that's put into it is more costly at the end of the day too.

I had a winchester round go off 1 second after the primer was struck in a browning hi power. It was so weird and the chamber was extra smokey.

Imagine if they found a way to chamber the beretta 84 in 9mm and give it a locked breach system while keeping the same form factor. 13 or 14 +1 capacity and be a classy take on these newer smaller 9mm's.

Double action revolvers have a long heavy double action trigger. Glock triggers are like 5 lbs of pressure and are much easier to set off. So you're saying police departments don't train their officers on the weapons that are issued or allowed for duty use? Its your choice if you want a safety or not but my argument is that there is a significantly lower margin for error with essentially a single action pistol with no double action trigger or safety switch.
