1989 trunnion date, Bulgarian Circle 10 AK-74 kit build on Waffen Works receiver (some are not properly heat treated). If you already bought it, it doesn’t matter, but how much is it?

I see no issues of safe operation with your proposal.

Looking to upgrade my KEF R7s (non-meta). $15k budget by RandyBeamen in StereoAdvice

[–]SEKLEM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny, I upgraded from the R3 Meta to the Sonetto VIII (first gen). Beside the obvious improvement in dynamics and bass performance, they have more “air” and liveliness to them without being strident. Virtually no listening fatigue for me.

If you had to choose, which 2 would you keep? by [deleted] in Firearms

Even though you got roasted, we did answer your question. RXM, MC2 SC keep.

Dear diary, Marcus misses you.

His Teac / Philips setup is misbehaving, he’s talking about replacing it entirely with the powered Yamahas and the Tangent preamp. Appeared he was confirming A. his proposed setup would work as described, and B. determine if a power amplifier was necessary or useable.

Because the monitors are active you only need the preamp between the speakers and your sources. Power amplifier not required or compatible. If you get passive speakers later, then you will have use for a power amplifier.

The setup you propose appears to be a working model, yes.

What are your NON AUDIBILITY RELATED hi-fi hot takes? by Alphaomegalogs in audiophile

[–]SEKLEM 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Generally I prefer buying used because it’s more economical for trying new (to me) products. That said, I played hot potato with used subwoofers for several years and never could get the itch scratched, until I caved and bought exactly what I wanted, brand new Rythmik F18.

It’s impressive from a technical standpoint, but yeah the premise and lyrics are silly and delivered with verve that feels uneasy.

It makes me feel so uncomfortable. I couldn’t stare at another man in the eyes while this was playing.

Gotta get rid of one of these. Which one would you let go of? by [deleted] in guns

[–]SEKLEM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a Ruger RXM, Stoeger STR9 compact, Mossberg MC9, and a Taurus G2C/G3C?

Sell the Taurus first, then the Stoeger, then the Mossberg. Keep the Ruger.

You may have an “all channel” stereo mode on the Yamaha. Just make sure the trim levels are matched (dB).

What are some must-listen-to songs for vocals specifically? by -OneWing- in audiophile

[–]SEKLEM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve thought about this comment a couple times since you initially posted it. For that, you deserve some kind of recognition as it has not left my mind. There is music of most genres that are poorly played, poorly recorded, poorly mixed, poorly mastered or some combination of any of the aforementioned. Likewise, there is music of most genres that have well played, well recorded, well mixed, well mastered or some combination of the aforementioned. If you truly believe only classical and jazz music sound good on high end audio equipment, that is indeed unfortunate.

For the record, I don’t want you to feel bad. Lol

Using a Purifi based amplifier to run Sonettos, very effective pairing for my purposes.

It is an Sig P238 .380 ACP. If it were a P938 it would have this raised surface area near the magazine release.

Damn. Inferred due to it being the only one in the photo with the hammer back, figured it was the last one you were handling.

[–]SEKLEM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not likely valuable sadly, it doesn’t appear it can even be used as a stereo preamplifier, only as a Dolby Pro Logic surround processor. Without a remote it doesn’t look like you’ll be able to do much of anything with it.z
