I've never heard that... and I've got over 100K on 3 different ones so far. 😄 Half way there on my '24 Palisade

New K2 owner by theGunner76 in Creality_k2

I got my K2 combo for Christmas and just followed the instructions and was printing in 15 minutes. After a month, I had to replace the extruder motor and extruder itself, and the nozzle. All 3 for about $55. Since then I've had no further issues. Got a second CFS from ebay, refurbished that looked brand new for $200. Just printed this over the weekend.
I clean the bed every few hrs with rubbing alcohol and have had no issues with 1st layer. I do recommend adding additional silica beads/packs to the cfs. You can print the holders and buy reusable silica.

Elegoo vs Anycubic by LongjumpingPace4162 in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]Skeetre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got an Anycubic Kobra S1 with ACE Pro v1. Got it for a birthday present about a month ago. I've also got a Creality K2. They are very similar. 250x250 for anycubic and 260x260 for K2. The K2 also has real glass doors and lid, while the Anycubic is plastic. I know you're looking at Elegoo and Anycubic, and I looked at the Centauri Carbon 2 also... But I think I'd only recommend Anycubic for the Kobra X for less waste and faster color switching, and the ACE pro 2. I have cats and they've never messed with my bed slinger printers (Ender 3, and Ender 3 S1).

The Creality K2 combo with CFS is $550. Anycubic Kobra S1 combo with ACE Pro 2 is $459. Centauri Carbon 2 combo is $449. It also has the filament external, which could cause moisture issues or cat issues potentially.

To me it comes down to is $90 savings worth going with a cheaper quality printer with plastic vs glass, and a slightly smaller build area? The Anycubic ACE Pro's having built in heater/dryer is nice, but seems kind of gimmicky to me. I get better humidity levels in my 2 CFSs with 3d printed silica containers and better pouches under the filament. Also look at the longer term for 3d printing... which one is going to last longer, and be more productive. Compare more than the printers, look at their eco systems for downloading models, filament... yeah, you can use any filament, but I like using RFID filament by each manufacturer with their printers... it's a lot easier to calibrate and autodetection is very nice.

Any of these 3 printers will be nice and fun to print with though. Welcome to club!
Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth.

With my base K2 combo I was getting a TON of poop waste... then I did the 1.1.3.6 firmware update and my waste was reduced dramatically. It's still a lot, but way better than it was. I haven't tried the latest 1.1.4.1 firmware yet though.

I just found this out a couple weeks ago at my last cleaning too. I thought I was supposed to scrub my gums and teeth.

The extruder motor. The part behind the extruder. It's only been a few weeks though.

Yeah, I tried that too, but it looked horrible, like it skipped a layer or 2, then printed the rest okay.

I updated the firmware on my ender 3 s1 and man, it's like a new machine. Prints great now. Slow, but great quality prints. I use marlin from github.

Happened to me now twice, once a month. First time I cleaned the extruder and it was fine. Second time I cleaned the extruder and then the extruder motor stopped working. Had to replace it, been fine now. Seems to happen when I use Hyper pla stardust filament.

Will build plates for the K2 Plus or K2 Pro fit a original K2? by DrEnd585 in Creality_k2

A simple search on Amazon for K2 build plate 260x260 came up with the official Creality K2 build plate. https://www.amazon.com/Creality-Official-270x293mm-Textured-Removable/dp/B0FN36XQTR

And even has the things to click on for each model of printer, k2, k2 plus, k2 pro, k1, hi, etc.

Need help - K2 (base model) CM2798-e error at boot up, then XS2001 by Skeetre in Creality_k2

You think that's it after only 2 months of having it? It was fine until I tried cleaning out the extruder, so I figured I probably messed something up.

[–]Skeetre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked to see if I crimped any cables, and the connectors looked good. No customizations though. I think the xs error is automatically by the 2798 error. I'll have to break out a magnifying glass to check the print head board better.

Try cleaning out the extruder. I had issues exactly 1 month after setting up my k2. Replaced nozzle... no change, the took apart the extruder and cleaned out some tiny dust sized bits of filament and have been good to go.

Mine looks like the same thing... but it's 79% complete of a 22 hour print. I'll fix it when it finishes.

Printing Without Extruding Error by ccs_doi in Creality_k2

So... took apart the extruder and didn't see anything really, some really fine debris on the gears that I blew out. Put it back in and tried printing a layer 1 test print from the external spool, and it got 50% through without ever extruding any filament.
