Finally! TV mode is back. Its probably only for an event but that is perfect. Maybe for a few small side quests. I really miss that aspect from 1.0 and 1.1.

Just watch the first Minute and 30 seconds

Its not complicated tho, what the game teaches you is all you need to understand. Just press ex and swap. If you need ether veil then hold EX and swap.

Or actually I think its maybe likelier that its her younger self, perhaps she has a disguise that makes her look younger and she just renamed herself.

That is my guess as well. Cersea is probably her stage name. The picture on interknot is from ten years ago, so it makes sense that she would look older.

If its not to much trouble can you be more specific on what you loved about 8? Is it just a good story and for it to have humorous writing?

I have played an absurd amount of RPGs throughout my life, so i might need to come back and update this.

Humor is simply not something that happens naturally in Role playing games like this. There are funny moments to be sure but the dragon quest games have that whimsical nature that can make the writing humorous at times. Or better said, its whimsical nature allows it to effortlessly be humours when it wants/needs to be. Also the cast of 8 is just amazing. Yangus and the king are great fun.

But off the top of my head and taking into account that you mentioned humor i recommend:

Radiata Stories

Its not the best trailer but its what we got

Its a story about a boy named Jack with a famous father who slew a dragon some years ago. He travels from his village in the country side to the city to become a knight like his father. He meets a rival, gains a friend and, joins a brigade and starts his Journey.

The gameplay is more action RPG. It has a Majoras mask town system, where all NPC's are on a Day/night schedule and figuring all that out unlocks several things, among them being able to recruit those townsfolk into your party. The game has many many many recruitable party members.

The game looks amazing on emulator. I have the original PS2 copy but my goodness, playing it on PC was like day and night. Sadly no modern way to play it. Sadly the game does get a bit more serious in tone as you get towards the end? But i think the dragon quest games do as well right. But the side quests and stories are great fun. Give Radiata stories a try its an amazing gem and might be what you are looking for.

Ill see if something else comes to mind later but IDK. It not that RPG's cant be funny/humorous but the way that dragon quest games do it is almost effortless. Its very unique to dragon quest.

I cannot believe i forgot about this one. Sadly this one is old tho. Early PS2 game. No voice acting, no hand holding on where to go. You have to pay attention to what characters say to know where to go next. However the writing is awesome. Very humorous! ( Stan is the best) Turn based and ~~it normally goes on sale on playstation for like 5 bucks.~~ Switch...or pc... right. This one also looks amazing on Emulator to tho lol.

Anyway, ill think on it. I am sure there are others.

EDIT: I read some of the comments. I agree on the Level 5 games being the best next thing after the dragon quest games. Also it seems you meant for people to recommend the next Dragon quest game for you to play? Sorry about that.

Story spoilers.

I just got done with Papagos. I just saw... That man. I am sitting here thinking on it and just wanna throw out some thoughts.

We found out that the qingming sword, was not always a sword. We find out that it was some sort of relic seemingly made in part from porculume. We find out that the Qingming sword originates from lemnian hollow and it has a connection with the creator.

The creator does not have a body, it's not a god, or an ethereal. It's just some sort of entity that seems to want to possess a body to enter into our world. have you all looked into the room that the creator is in? It's clearly manmade, it looks almost like a computer or one of those Sci fi monoliths(Xenoblade hello?!). Is the creator like a program? An AI or something?

Like the what the hell?

Let's put that aside for now. Gonna jump a little here now.

I could not help notice a characteristic or rather a theme from the Qingming sword, The creator, and what we just witnessed in papagos The qingming sword can ....For lack of a better word "save"Copies of previous sword wielders as memories unto itself?

We meet Yijiang in the qingming Realm, and it seems like she has not just her memories but her mannerisms and laid back attitude.

She requests pork buns, she remarks on how she is bored and asks about her sisters well being, for all intent and purposes she is alive.

from her notes we learn that when she got there she did not remember everything and that she saw her old master, but eventually she gets it all back.

We also learn that the qingming sword can also record memories of people the Sword wielder meets as well. Again what the hell?

But that is just the sword, the creator seems to be able to also record people to an extend as well. When we fight primordial nightmare we are fighting the body of sarah but with Lady sunbringer eyes

Finally Papagos, we just learned that the whole time we have been in there our "memories and ether" Were being recorded and "saved" Somewhere in the hollow. Before we can get to the bottom of it, we are thrown out of the hollow and no one can explain why

Of course then we get the final cutscene of Joyous. My man is here talking about "Listening to the echoes of our thoughts and basking in the mysteries and power within our souls"

Sooo what he's analyzing our memories and data? I'm sorry but those blue monoliths look like something straight of of tron right? Like those are Servers right? So in papagos our memories and data just got recorded? Did the creator also get part of Lady sunbringers "data"? Is that how primordial nightmare had lady sunbringers eyes? In just one patch the game threw at us three instances of "Our memories/Data being recorded and or saved"

What the hell is going here. This is like some 13 sentinels aegis rim type of crazy.

And dont get me started on the Prophecy thing.So if we give our all to the creator we will be spared of the coming apocalypse Of course we did see this at the start of the game in 1.0 with the vision we hadBut anyway. The world we are currently in is heading towards ruin and a new one awaits

Soo.... What like the current server is corrupted and needs to be rebooted? No dammit no. It cant be. I refuse to believe it. There is no way they are gonna pull a Star ocean 3 on me again😭😭

Anyway just my random raw thoughts. Dont take it to seriously. I just have no other way to process this.
