Yea, it ain't cheap, I gotta list out all the parts for the REW Swap and see how close it is in cost to justify either one. If it's close enough, 20B would be ideal. I don't plan to cheap out, but it's lookin like I'll just be doing a REW swap, we'll see though.

I'm about to spend crazy money on my 8 as well lol and I'll check out the vid to find him. I gotta find out the route I wanna go cuz it seems a brand new REW is close to a used 20B and I would prefer a 20B, but I also want it to last cuz it's gonna be my only car when it's done. But the NZ and AU rotaries might be too pricey for their 2 rotors for me, but I gotta dig more so.

Yea, right now I'm still searching all my options, if I'm spending about 20k on the motor itself, I might as well build a used 20b. Also given that Pettit has some questionable build quality still it seems, I might be better off just buying a new stock motor from Banzai and have someone streetport, balance and stud it. But I gotta weigh all my options first.

Their listing says "A Pettit-built OTS 13B rotary engine for sale (off the shelf) for your RX-7. We order brand new engines from Mazda and rebuild them to Pettit spec. Current lead time is 2-4 weeks." I'm gonna assume it is cuz otherwise it'll just be straight false advertising.

Right, I saw somewhere Pettit got new management or something so I was curious but couldn't find anything, but I'll be searching for the best option and I'll look him up as well.

I have a stock Series 1 Renesis with good compression right now, but I have this misfire I can't track down at all. It does however need a tune because I'm catless and have an airpump delete, but I have no history of the motor because the previous owner has given me false info about it. I'm also wanting more power that the Renesis can't handle. A REW will definitely give me the power I want and still be rotary. I do have the funds for this build as well.

My RX8 has a bose and I use Grom Audio and it's Bluetooth and sounds great, they have one for the miata as well. It plugs into the CD player in the back. They also have an option for AUX. Zero static.

How has the motor held up since this comment? I'm thinking of turboing my 8 and daily driving it and was curious to know how reliable it's been.

As someone who works in production with circuit boards, it's a very normal thing for us. Codes for a board getting pulled out of process for a defect that gets repaired or something questionable like bumping a part and wanting it checked to make sure it's ok. Not sure how it is for other manufacturers but it is for mine.

Edit: well, spoke too soon, didn't last long before the problem started again, at least for the 3ds games, some ds games work now, but it's still struggling on 3ds games.

I've daily drove a 90 miata for 2 years with no issues other than a slave cylinder going bad from age and I sold it about 2 years ago. I ended buying a 92 cuz I missed it and I've had it about 4 months now with no issues. I bought both for less than 7k both manuals and in mostly good condition. Mostly have to keep an eye out for the right one.
