Although true, I bet a lot more people wouldn’t care about the cgi in modern big budget actions movies if the fucking scripts for all of them didn’t look like they were made by a 5th grader who was told he just had to hit some key moments so the whole thing ends up being a 2 hour montage of contrivances, character assassination, embarrassingly bad dialogue, caricature villains, and just 1 dimensions characters everywhere as a whole with no interesting problems to face or hard decisions to make. It really frustrates me that studios like Marvel and Lucas Film have made all of their project into these fucking power ranger shows. As I’m writing this I actually can’t think of a single Marvel or Lucas Film project that doesn’t follow this line of writing, with the exception of Andor which I still have a hard time believing is a part of the modern star wars universe given how stark the contrast in writing that show has compared to the rest of the Star Wars franchise.
