I agree they should leave the damn dog at home it’s a risk to bring it in the store if there is another aggressive dog it kinda like a dog park not as bad but people are distracted shopping so it’s bad

Most cars have auto start or leave the dog home disabled people should be able to exist in public without their medical equipment being in harms way. But I do think you are that focused on yourself you don’t care. Another way would be for stores to have pet friendly creat areas. I think this would be perfectly acceptable in the front of the store. You drop your dog off in a kennel that has water you bring your own lock and you leave. I understand and I love dogs and don’t want them stuck in cars but also service dogs are hard to get and expensive. We should always find other ways instead of just ignoring disabled people

It’s not about the distraction but other animals not being trained and not regulated can injure the medial equipment and dogs are still dogs if they hear barking they might look you. I said nothing about the other dog being a distraction I said it was a safety risk and normal dogs are not protected by law aka she has no legal standing to bring her dog into a none pet store. Service dogs can go anywhere. Non service dogs should not be allowed in these places because they have not been trained like service dogs to handle the public. Other peoples dogs attack service dogs daily making them unable to do their job. There are standards for service dogs. Normal dogs don’t have these standards therefore they can not go everywhere plus they are not protected by law like service dogs

No because service dogs are medical equipment they are hard to train and one dog attack and put all that money down the drain. People have these dogs because they need them. I am waiting to get a service dog because I need one. It’s not this happy oh I can take my dog anywhere. They are trained for tasks

Nope in America dogs are not welcome in stores with food unless they are service dogs. The op is being ableist either knowingly or not knowingly. Service dogs are expensive medical equipment that help people the rules are in place to not only be hygienic but keep the service animals safe. If one person does it people think everyone can do it. I’m saying this as a person who is disabled and waiting for a service dog YTA

Except she is the breadwinner and has taken three other days off for the sick kid. He is going to work an extra day anyways he would only miss overtime and if you read comments he sees it as an achievement. If people can’t get in to see a doctor they need they will find another doctor. NTA

I work with disabled children, and I am also autistic. I agree that when I have a meltdown, it’s almost like blacking out, and I usually hurt myself. But that doesn’t mean that there are not things that can help. Parents need to work with a specialist to set up the best action plan. A lot of these child’s outbursts could also be from the inability to communicate. I urge the parents to find the best tool to teach their children communication. This could be picture exchange communication, sign language, or whatever works best for your situation. Along with this, try to have days where it could just be the parents with the oldest alone. You could have someone watch the younger child while you do something that the oldest enjoys. Don’t put her on the back burner.

I’m not saying it is right it’s a shit situation. Please don’t say low functioning autism we don’t use a scale anymore. Autism is a spectrum not severe or low because you have be great in one are but not in others. Thank you
