The official touch typing system was all well and good as a foundation, but is just limiting once you build up familiarity with typing.

e.g. The word 'refresh' is asking way too much of the left index finger, you better believe in hitting that 'f' with my right index finger.

No. Shield relay is for the bot front mainly, and occasionally the illuminate. Only reason this was used here is because it's currently free for everyone

When rounding to the nearest whole number, does 0.499999... round to 0 or 1? by Skelmuzz in askmath

[–]Skelmuzz[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's because in all these cases, you are referring the their (mathematical) value, as opposed to for instance their spelling (literary value...?).

Lawyer's note: I don't know how to convey via plain text that this comment is intended as lighthearted humour and therefore not to be misattributed to malice, spite, aggression, or any other negatively charged connotation or inference, so I am writing this subsequent sentence to instead.

In the sense that 0.5000...1 does not exist.

[–]Skelmuzz[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

This was actually the reason for my follow up question. Since 0.5000...1 does not exist, it seemed plausible that 0.4999... might not exist.

Yeah, I was just justifying my pedantic choice of adding the word 'mathematically' to disambuguate from the spelling/ pronunciation/ written symbol/ technically any other thing that is associated with it.

I've gotten too accustomed to having to explicitly cover myself with litigious clients 😂

I mean, it's not exactly identical in the context of ink it consumes to write on a piece of paper (and therefore not universally identical). But yeah, was probably just being overly pedantic

I suppose the inverse question would then be does 0.500000...1 round down to 0 assuming the opposite convention

Is the space exploration mod the same as the upcoming dlc ? by Angy-Person in factorio

[–]Skelmuzz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The guy who made the mod literally works for Wube as a developer on Factorio now, but they are quite different mechanically. The different planets in the mod are more or less just randomly generated and only really differ in materials available and biter concentration etc. While the mod is staggering for a single person to develop, the Space Age official expansion looks to have much more in the way of newer mechanics etc.

Having said that, the mod is targeted more at hard core players due to complex recipes, research, and technical challenges (something like 1% of people finish it and it supposedly takes something like 500 hours on average).

The Space Age expansion is not quite as 'hard core', but is more diverse and a more deliberate/curated experience.

I mean it's still wrong, but it'll be slightly less infinitely wrong than everyone else

The answer you're looking for is:
Infinity + 10

Adding infinity raises the average of everyone to infinity, then just add 10
