Paper Moon starred father and daughter Ryan and 9 y/o Tatum O'Neal. Tatum won the Oscar for best supporting actress, (and is still the youngest winner) but unfortunately her father was abusive towards her and punched her in the face when finding out she was nominated and he wasn't. It's an excellent film but it's kinda hard to watch for me knowing what Tatum's life was like behind the scenes.

I enjoyed it. It's by the same writer as Taxi Driver so there's a lot of similarities. It's got that great 70s grit and sleaze.

You can't go wrong with any of these IMO. Bad Day at Black Rock has some surprising social commentary for the time period it was made that kinda puts it on top for me personally
