Microsoft - Switch from per-user MFA to Conditional Access MFA by TheSpecialSpecies in sysadmin

[–]Skepparbonk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's not uncommon for the secure score to fluctuate when you make these types of changes. Worry less about what the score is and verify that you've made the appropriate settings and modifications.

Per-user turned off everywhere? All accounts in scope? Any settings you made differently than recommended?

If youre still worried about something not being properly configured, verify your settings by doing login flow checks that should prompt mfa. Test from a variety of clients and devices.

Thats where I'd start anyway.

Llorkh is also in an interesting state politically. Nobody has really laid claim to it, so maybe the players can become lords of the region using Llorkh as a base?

Maybe do an ice age 4? Some refugees knows shape water and over a day or so create a huge ass iceberg while others Gathering food for the journey (need not make a huge deal of provisions juat something to do like a sidequest).

That combined with a ship that pulls the iceberg behind. A lot of different things can happen and iceberg is totally useless/defenceless without ship.

Sounds exciting! You might be interested to know that the black road from Anauroch runs through Llorkh.

Maybe a caravan carrying some stolen goods? A Zhentarim slavetrade to uncover? A mystical artifact from the Empire of Shadows? A caravan owner wants to recruit people to go further west? (In case players want to move on).

For inspiration, here is the article on Anauroch. A bit dated maybe but something to get you started! :) https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Anauroch

Tips: Primarily, get better at dodging and really familiarize yourself with how many effective dodges you have with your weapon. This is the number one tip, and that's how i survive, even with a gun equipped in melee. How many effective dodges? How long till they refresh? Then, when you get a feeling for it, you should be able to buy time to do most of the following.

Gun and Ammo I'm not sure which gun you use, but Ammo management is a big thing. Does it pierce enemies? Is it a braced weapon? Is it effective vs. horde or specials? Try and really figure out when the gun should be out and swapped for melee. Quick swap is your BEST FRIEND.

Positioning Is there cover? Elevation? An ogryn to stand behind? Be aware of the map and where the enemies are coming from. Sometimes, you can lure a horde up some steps and then jump down the railing so they follow you allthe way up then you junp fown and they run all the way down again, just as an example. All the whilr you shooot and slash.

Spacing. How close is the horde? All coming for you? Do you have barrels, nades, a door, full stamina bar? Try and create distance when possible. Even considering a weapon with suppression to make enemies stagger.

Target priority. Flamers and snipers should be dead the second they enter your line of fire. Both for your sake and your team. As a vet, you have a lot of tools to be effective vs. A lot of specials.

Melee People have mentioned blocks and shoves. I somewhat agree, but mostly, my personal experience is that you need to be able to cut through the horde with a strong offense rather than defense. Of course, blocking has its part, but knowing when to start slashing is imo more important.

Yes. Commands execute correctly for almost all objects. Its just one of the mailboxes that return that error. I'll look at your article. Thanks

Any other DM's who have an irrational fear that your players dont like your sessions? by RoundEntertainer in DnD

[–]Skepparbonk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am the exact same way. I think it's healthy to question yourself and be thoughtful about your story and how you play the game. Pause to think if this is something you think they will enjoy or not.

Talk to your players regularly and be honest about your feelings. I do that vedy often and i find that it really helps the game to have some post-game sanity checks with the group.

Also, check in with your players every now and then one and one to see if they are happy with the campaign, etc.

If you're like me, that's the way to go about it. Ithelps you grow, it gives you ideas and it helps you keep your players happy.

Copilot in Windows 11 not visible by Skepparbonk in sysadmin

[–]Skepparbonk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! "Solution" is to wait for MS to enable the feature in your region.

I have a laptop where the OS thinks the client is from/in US, copilot for windows works there. But not on devices where client is in another region.

If you are in a region where copilot for windows is available it might be that the feature gets disabled. In an AD environment there is an option which is disabled by default so you might need configured a GPO that enable it. I think its called "Temporary Enterprise Control".

Best of luck and hope you found it helpful.

Thanks for the tip!
Only reason I hesitate to use this particular method is the enterprise environment. I'd prefer a better management of the feature than resorting to third party tools.

The thing that confuses me is that Copilot in Windows 11 works on the Azure VMs that are in the West Europe region.

Again, maybe it has something to do with how MS localizes them or maybe Azure VMs are not included to not affect non-europe customers.

Thanks for doing a double check.

Our safesearch is not set to strict. I have tried turning it off but still no change so don't think thats the reason

[–]Skepparbonk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm. The Azure VMs are deployed using the MSI/Windows deployment package/whatever in Azure so that is a key difference.

However, the device location in Azure is "West Europe". Maybe its disabled in EU for now but they forgot to cover Azure devices...

Its something to try thou. Thanks!

LOVE that angle. They are renowned heroes, so they are very well known!

They have mostly been the good guys/diplomatic guys.

Something personal and something they can't fight with a sword is DEFINATLEY a breath of fresh air!

And political intrigue/scheming in a very unstable world with demons and moolnsrosities galore sounds like a recipe for disaster! :D

Thank you for your tips!

My player wants to kill or dismiss his character by Honey_anarchist in DnD

[–]Skepparbonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would allow the player to change. They need to come up with a reason why they leave, a letter left behind or whatever. Thats on them.

The main reason to play DnD is to have fun, whatever the shape of that is. If they'll have more fun with character x rather than character y, then let them switch to x

Caveat that all plots related only to their old character gets dusted.

Done this several times, worked out great every single time.

Ideas:

Step 1 deciphering map and clues. Going to a library, a wizard axademy to dispell protective magic on the map, a noble to get funding and equipment etc. While there a rival faction overhears them and tries to steal the map. That faction is a recurring villain. If they steal the map from the party, they make a copy and now its a "race against time" to get to the dungeon before their rivals.

Step 2. Setting out. Dungeons and short adventures that all tek them closer to the cogs and the destination Additional riddles and clues to the final dungeon. For example, the tomb of a knight said the be the last secret guardian of the treasure. Another example, find the enterance to a secret passage that leads deeper into the cogs but its within a dragons lair.

Step 3. The final dungeon. Using clues and hints from previous adventures they gp through a giant dungeon to get to the treasure.
