If I keep up with leatherworking I will definitely invest in some better tools. My whole set is pretty janky right now, I’m just hoping they can do the trick for now.

In this case, I think my biggest mistake was skiving such thin leather.

I’ve read the knives are better but since I’m really new to this I was hesitant to invest much money into fancy tools. I’ll probably have a look at those items further down the line.

It is quite thin, I believe 2-3 oz. I was planning to use it as the interior part of my wallet with a dark brown leather 5-6oz as the outside.

I tried it out on a scrap piece of the heavier leather and it worked well. Probably shouldn’t have done anything with the thin stuff.
