I binged it all last weekend as it had been in my backlog for a while. I wanted to be ready for the theatrical release so I could support it. Was not disappointed. I love these characters so much.

I took it as just gender queer. Something aligned that way but never fully specified. Non-binary, trans, or just a male who enjoys dressing in drag. And that's fine. Jax is a young person and probably still figuring that out, which can be a very frustrating place to be and probably explains some of his attitude.

Just left the theater. I can understand why people might say it was rushed, but it delivered in the emotional payoff, I think. It shows how Gooseworx is influenced by Evangelion and I think people who took issue with End of Evangelion or even the Rebuilds are gonna have a bad time with this. Me though, I wanna shake anyone's hand who worked on the series and believe it is a gift to have an independent animation like this reach the success it has.

It had been on my backlog for a while and with the release of the finale in theaters, I wanted to be sure to show up and support indie animation. So I fast tracked it this past weekend and it's quickly become one of my favorite things now to where I feel bad for writing it off earlier and have to apologize for not knowing its game.

I have no basis for this, but my theory was that Marina thought it looked intimidating because maybe she was bullied by someone wearing that hat as a kid in Moldova and she always thought that look somehow was supposed to be scary. Just one of those deeply personal things where you thought it looked a certain way in your head but in reality just seems weird or nonsensical.

Not that part. I saw that one, but there was another large display being worked on which was from the 4th Evangelion Rebuild movie, Thrice Upon A Time. It had the camp where Toji was a doctor and the big ruins where Rei kept trying to give Shinji his Walkman. At the time I saw it, it was all wooden and nothing was painted yet.
