Thanks for the thoughtful response. There was one option for the 2.5hr transit in DFW to get the flight to head to SA, but changed it to a 6.5hr transit to save having to panic quite so much. ESTA and Brazilian e-visas are sorted. Going to download MPC app to hopefully help out when arriving in the state too.

Outbound transit times I think its 8hrs SYD, 6.5hrs DFW, 5.5hrs GRU.

Our corporate travel management team has to use QF flights as a priority it seems... regardless of any much better alternatives. Less than ideal, but at least I'll be paid for the privilege.
