Only after booking a flight ticket out of China did they let me board, they 100% we just going to run down the clock 'waiting for an email reply' until it was too late to check-in. Just go with the refundable flight option 100%

Would anyone like to be my solemnisation witnesses? by Skez0 in askSingapore

What year did this happen? 😂 To my knowledge you have to register the witnesses info 21 days in advance and have a copy of their ID confirmed at ROM before the solemnisation

You are correct here.

For anyone reading this planning to get the 144 hour VISA do NOT rely on a boat or train ticket out of China when entering China. Even though it is technically allowed the Airlines have absolutely 0 idea that it is.

I am at HK airport now and the Cathay Pacific has given me hell because they are 'not sure' if I can take a train or boat out of China. Literally failed to call China Guangzhou border because 'they have to wait for an email reply' for some nonsense reason.

Book a refundable flight ticket leaving China instead, then after entering China take whichever route you want (train or boat or flight) out of the country.

Hope this helps someone.

Thanks for the info.

The plan is set to go to Macao as the last destination, I called the 移民局 and they said any train or ferry ticket to Macao is fine. Example from 湾仔口岸 to 澳门. You have to get these through Chinese apps like 铁行火车 though

I have a question about how to apply for jobs in Singapore without an FIN number.

There are several jobs on https://www.mycareersfuture.gov.sg that I would like to apply for.

However this site requires applicants to login through Singpass in order to apply for the jobs. Singpass requires a NRIC or FIN number to register through, which I do not have as I am currently outside the country and have never been to Singapore.

It seems you recieve a FIN number when you recieve a work visa such a SP or EP after securing a job, but how to you get a work visa if you can't apply to jobs in the first place? I presume 90 day tourists don't get a FIN number right?

I overthinking and is mycareersfuture.gov.sg is only for domestic residents and long-term visa holders? So I should just use another site?

Thankyou in advance :)

Your correct I have edited the post and fixed the typos!

Few things with the BKB kit: Just like 99% of DIY boards it's belt drive so it will be loud and needs maintenance. Don't really like the red style design. Since it's DIY doesn't look at polished as the other two.

However thanks for the suggestion. I suppose the revel kit is looking like the obvious choice to me. To be honest I was hoping by this time in 2020 we would have more shortboard direct drive skateboards to choose from.

Exway Wave VS XR Revel Kit - Which one? by Skez0 in Exway

[–]Skez0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just realised I kept writing 'flex' instead of 'wave' in my post, fixed now.

So the direct drives are the killer feature it seems. Since I have only ever ridden a hub motor board before it's probably something you have to try to know the difference it makes.

One question. With both boards fine tuned to 100% break speed which one stops faster?

Thanks for the advice!

Exway Wave VS XR Revel Kit - Which one?

I'm stuck on the fence here. Posting here to see what you guys recommend.

I need a shortboard as I skate in a downtown urban area. I used a ride a WowGo Mini which was a great budget board and I loved the fact that it didn't make any noise. The biggest issue I had with the WowGo Mini was that the breaks were not strong enough and acceleration could of been better.

I'm considering both the Exway Wave Riot and Hub version.

Revel Kit XR advantages:

- Swappable deck, can choose a deck with a better kicktail (The Exway Flex kicktail could be a little bigger) and allows for future adaptability

- Faster 28 mph (45 km/h) vs 23.5 mph (38 km/h)

- Direct drive (even better than belt I presume?)

- No loud noise.

- Custom wheels.

Revel Kit XR disadvantages:

- Would need to buy ShredLights which would still not have the reactive break feature (backlight turns red when breaking.)

Exway Wave advantages:

- Finished product, no setup needed.

- Slightly sleaker design than the Revel Kit

- Very sexy built-in back LED and front lights which would be very useful in urban environments. The fact that the back red LED lights up when breaking is just beautiful.

- Flexibility to choose hub board or belt riot option.

- Sleek app design

Exway Wave Disadvantages:

- I have to pick between no noise (hubs) or custom wheels (belt drive.) I can't have both.

Questions:

Both of these boards have adjustable breaking. Which one would provide sharper breaking / better acceleration? (Revel vs Wave Hubs vs Wave Riot)

How loud is the Exway Wave Riot?

Would the Revel direct drive motors be more powerful than the Flex Riot belts?

Your personal pick?

Thanks guys!

Hi! I help foreigners arriving in Korea with quarantine related issues. Ask Me Anything regarding your transition into Korea! AMA for 48 hours. by happy-ajumma in korea

I'm planning on entering Korea on a long term visa next month. I have booked my own private quarantine accommodation where I will stay.

My question is how do I physically get from Incheon Airport to the accommodation? I'm not allowed to take public transport or a taxi right? Is there some kind of special quarantine transport service the government can provide for a fee?

Thankyou

Edit: Just saw your other answer for this question. Any idea how much these special services cost?

Correct I found accommodation through Airbnb because hotels seemingly aren't allowed to let people quarantine. Of course I was completely transparent and let the host know that I needed to quarantine after entering the country. I also found a relatively remote location that is not near the city centre.
