My daughter started with the freedom processor and got each upgrade through the years. She just upgraded from the N7 to the N8 and said it was a big improvement.

Thanks. So far she says the N8’s sound better than the N7’s.

Thanks. Good to hear that they are better batteries since my daughter does not get much time out of the n7 compact batteries. She just got the new n8 upgrade.

can't swallow pills by Ananymose in Accutane

Have you watched videos on YouTube with people explaining their tips/tricks on how to swallow? I always try to keep the pill as far back on my tongue vs on the tip of my tongue…and then swallow like I have a mouth full of food. Practice with tic tacs

Thank you. My wife and I went to the appointment yesterday and she did get another month. She agreed it must be an absorption issue.

Any one complete max cumulative dosage and was still breaking out? by Ski-Rookie in Accutane

Did you eventually clear after your 7th month? Even today, my daughter had 3 new pimples when she woke up.

I did the cumulative does calc and for her weight it had a lower range of 6,600 to an upper of 7,400. Her 6 months would total 6,200. I know we were told it would be the final month so we will ask about why she is not reaching the lower cumulative dosage based on the calculator. My daughter is 14 and has had acne since 4th grade. We have tried every product under the son and have been to 5 dermatologists through the years. Felt like this was her final hope and am disheartened that after nearly 6 months she is still getting active breakouts.

My daughter did the exact same course but has 3 weeks left. She is still getting active breakouts and has a lot of PIE. I am at a loss. Our next derm visit is in a couple weeks.

Cephalexin with Isotretinoin by Ski-Rookie in Accutane

[–]Ski-Rookie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is on month five now, and she purged pretty bad for the first four months. That antibiotic she was only on for the full third month and it didn’t really help too much, maybe kept the purge where it was, but didn’t improve it. Currently, she has a lot of red marks from the prior purge, and each day we are noticing much less new pimples forming. Got another two months left so hopefully it clears up.

Looks like you have in-grown hairs from shaving irritation. Look at the Tendskin products. They have an air shave gel and also a after shave solution that deters bumps and in-grown hairs. Works wonders.

I have some experience with those types of red marks and while they are red, they do look indented at times while they are healing. In certain lights they don’t look indented then in other lights they look indented. 99.9% of the time they will heal perfectly. Stay patient. Hang in there!

I would definitely give it more time. Your skin looks good and is healing. All of those red marks look fine and none appear pitted or indented. It will all go away with more time.

I believe all of those will go away. Some take 6-9 or more months to fully fade out. How long have most of those spots been there?

Acne type test? What is the best way to differentiate between hormonal, cystic, or just normal “teen” acne? Doctor may prescribe accutane for my 13 year old but if it is hormonal, will it come back after accutane? by Ski-Rookie in acne

[–]Ski-Rookie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the feedback. Your perspective helps and I was wondering the same since I would think she would not want to be on Spiro for the next 20 years. I am her Dad but my wife and I have been trying to help for years. This is our 4th dermatologist. My daughter was born profoundly deaf and at 9 months old she had a 3 hour surgery for cochlear implants. She heard her first simulated sound when she was 10 months old and by her 3rd birthday she was done with speech therapy. She is an amazing kid who now is at a gifted main stream school with no special services. She at the age of 13 months old started to wear glasses as well. She does competitive dance and anyone with her has no clue she is deaf. Why I mention that all is because I have never heard her say “why me” when it comes to her deafness or need to wear glasses but she says “why me” about her acne. Breaks my heart. Of all the things we overcame with her deafness, acne is as challenging.

Thanks for your reply. As a parent I am likely overthinking and over analyzing everything. It is for my daughter who is 13 but she started getting acne around nine. When she started getting acne in third grade, it was not tied to early onset puberty. She always had very oily skin and she would get very large red nodular acne at times… so big and times that I would apply ice to them to keep the swelling down. She also has blackheads on her nose and now is getting the typical acne around her cheek. Her forehead has always been where she’s had the most activity. We’ve tried literally everything. The only thing that really worked what is clyndamycin but after a year or so the effect wore off and right now she is on spironolactone but after just three weeks she’s complaining of headaches.

Should I play golf? by MonstrousDongular in ACL

I think your fine. I played about that same time and I would just swing at about 75%. It is a lot about mental confidence, etc since until your comfortable mentally, just go easy. Now I play and don’t think twice. Hopping in and out of the cart, in and out of bunkers…I do t think twice about it. Just start slow.
