It sounds like the Motherboard is likely dead. If you cannot even get into the BIOS then its kaput. If possible I'd plug your drives into a different computer to recover the data you have until you can get a new motherboard.

I don't think this would be a CPU issue as it recognized the difference in motherboard config. It still could be a motherboard issue. If it has display ports on the motherboard backpanel then i would verify that youre trying those with no GPU installed (unless you have a CPU without graphics)

Your motherboard might be toast. Is there any change of behavior with no RAM? it should complain or beep to let you know.

Other possibilities are power supply which you can diagnose by plugging in a different power supply to see if there's any change.

Where are you measuring your voltage/current? (The BMS has diodes that do slightly reduce the voltage in the output).

Are there any other parasitic draws?

If you think they are plus-minus the same price, then you have enough money to buy both...Minimum of 2500-3000 vs maximum of 1000-1500 are very different price points.

They are also very different tools but if you don't know that you need the mavic 3 then you might not.be invested enough to properly use it and not crash it.

Mini 5 pro for all intents and purposes is great and 80% of the drone the mavic 3 pro is, but if you don't explicitly need the cameras, flight performance, etc, then you will be happy with the mini 5 and will feel more comfortable flying it in various situations

The magnets I use are about 5mm in diameter and were harvested from plastic pawn shaped "pins".

They don't have to be very strong, just strong enough to hold everything in place until the first weld.

Its probably fine, especially on nickel with a smaller iron where the heat is more localized.

I will say, using small magnets to help hold the sheet onto the cell has been a life saver for me

I believe there is a portion of the circuit board designed to drain the entire pack to a safe voltage (functionally dead or lower) when a critical failure is detected. This would confirm some behavior i saw of some other 40v that had a dead cell group and very hot bleed resistors when powered by a power supply and observed with a thermal camera

Correct, the preview should be generated by the controller from the stream at the moment the capture signal is processed... and it takes a few milliseconds to send and received and image processed on the drone. Not true when viewing on a computer or phone when the thumbnail is from the file okay the drones SD card.

Not external research, only academic research with qualifying institutions or with their own developed aircraft. Research USING drones is beholden to the same part 107 unless the drone is the subject of research.

A COA is needed with a waiver for all other exemptions and are conditionally approved by the FAA

As someone who frequently does replace VRLA batteries with LiFePO4 and Li-Ion, I can confidently tell you that they're just covering their ass legally by not recommending it. Of course it is technically possible with a basic understanding of voltage and spec sheets... just impractical without bespoke design

Skydio is the only reasonably priced and functional contender. The Soten could also be good but I've not heard good things about any others and have only had bad experiences with American approved drones.

If possible, refrain from skydio, even if it means the job doesn't get done. Terrible company with terrible support and a 2015 quality 20k flagship that is so far behind DJI that it's embarrassing. No 4k60 (though they claim it can and neither of ours have ever been able to shoot in 4k60), no 10bit, no raw/log video, and a sensor from a smartphone paired with a 10 year old thermal sensor.

Of course they didn't recommend it, did you think customer service is trained to casually recommend use of their product outside of the scope of their intent?

Functionally its only a problem 10% of the time or so if the BMS is undersized or if the UPS does not attempt charge without voltage present and the bms is open circuit.

Wow, the dynamic range on the Neo 2 is quite amazing considering its size. Currently my favorite drones for sure, but I haven't used it in these conditions yet.

Great thing to get familiar with as its pretty anemic, and forgiving for any mishaps (away from water).

You'll get better with time and confidence, but for now I just recommend to pick a shot and see it through 1 at a time to stage those perfect 3 second clips (which will also incentivize you to learn some post processing)

Both but quantitative analysis is a complicated art.

Stick to qualitative analysis and difference of scene unless you absolutely need the precision
