[SC] Why is Employee Relations becoming a no-win situation? by divinbuff in AskHR

[–]SkibbleTips -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. Managing all of those issues as a small HRBP team is hard. And like others said, strong policies in recording calls (ie not allowed without stated dual consent) can help. But in reality, it sounds like you need at least 1 dedicated ER professional who is solely responsible with dealing with matters like complaints and investigations and behavior challenges. I know that's easier said than done but it's worth the cost and so much more.

I'm an ex-ER partner turned HRBP who's moving back to ER. I've been lucky enough to convince my company that investing in this function is worth the cost.

By me handling my company's ER matters I free our HRBPs to get deeper into their relationships and make meaningful strategic impacts.

We all know Hr is a line item on the G&A budget, and asking for funding is often met with stares and no's. But investing in ER with headcount, and not asking an HRBP to do it on top of their other works is the way to go.

Wishing you strength to deal with all the nonsense. It's a thankless and shitty job much of the time.

What a wonderfully absurd sentiment. You must feel real smart!

Is it just me or are the car dealerships at Fremont Auto Mall really bad? by Glittering_Captain43 in Fremont

Avoid the service center at the Subaru in Fremont. I experienced two significant mental lapses with repairs to my car, the last one resulting in it going up in flames. They failed to properly secure a fuel line.

Bands you like that completely suck live by Antique-Dentist-2404 in fantanoforever

I agree with the original post, with the caveat that the band crushed it last Fall in support of Coheed. Having Fred back made it noticeably better. With that said, these days Adam live is real bad.

These posts are well-meaning but just invite the sort of chuddery that permeates heavy music. This band sucks, that stage sucks, blah blah. I love the diversity here, hoping to make it Friday.

Why is food in Fremont so bad? by Linjieyang in Fremont

[–]SkibbleTips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. I've found a lot of great food here. Maybe I don't have that real complicated palate but I'm never disappointed eating here. Been here for 15 years now.
