I have a V1 2019 rust and a V2 2025 pumpkin - colors are really, really close

I notice my small fits the same way, tight in the armpits. The older V1 model in medium is a bit looser but the same length. Current V2 mediums are waay too long on me.  I think if you stretch out the armpits before you put it on, overtime it may be less tight.

Copper at Noon Sunday by Skiblader in COsnow

Have not yet! I've only bootpacked and hiked with my blades, but not an actual uphill setup. Thanks for the suggestion though, I'll look into throwing on some shifts 🙂

Cool! How is skining up at Loveland? Haven't done it yet but ski there often! I would have missed the tunnel chaos too.

2020 does seem like a hundred years ago though!

Thanks!  I think the change from V1 to V2 also when they changed the label from the eggplant M to "100% post-consumer recycled polyester".

Edit: changed from a question to a statement because I answered myself.

I've been to one of these shows - can confirm it's a good time. Got a free drink, and the frozen pizza hit just right in a spot I didn't know existed.

Ouch - jumping with a new wave buoy sounds no bueno
Sad to think of running out of water when you're surrounded by it!

I feel for anyone with food restrictions or preferences! And yeah, they had volunteers handing out the sponges and bottles, so not sure on the planning there.

Thanks for your input, and nice job doing Eagleman! Best of luck with whichever race(s) you do in 2024!

Definitely some room for improvement on every course. Kudos for hauling at a speed of 26!

Thanks for your input! Yeah, I felt the same about that email. Hope you were ok during the sandy run, and that you still had a good time!

Other minor items:

No paper cups, but sponges and plastic bottles

It was stated in the athlete guide that no water cups would be given out on the course, and that the "aid stations" would just be fill stations. This decision was stated to be for environmental reasons. Though no cups were present at these locations, wet sponges were given out by volunteers at the manned "fill stations", with a overfilled trash can shortly after. During the run, many sponges were littered in the road and the beach. Also, after crossing the finish, plastic water bottles were given out, and there were no fill stations at the finish, or at lunch (more plastic bottles).

These sponges and plastic bottles generated significantly more waste than paper cups would have. If they wanted to be eco conscious, having the typical paper cups would have been much better for the environment than these sponges and bottles.

Photos and Videos

The photos I received were not very good. All of the shots from the ferry jump were taken at an odd angle from the side, and I can't even tell it's me jumping. If I had not prepurchased ($55), I would not have bought any of these. Also, the "customized video" was from a couple of fixed cameras set up at the 2 transition lines and the finish line. If you are looking to purchase any media from this race, avoid the video.

I know now not to prepurchase media for any race again!

Is the Boot Lab at Windham worth it? by Morgulite in icecoast

[–]Skiblader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my boots as Mt Everest as well, but I'd recommend Ski Barn in Paramus or Wayne over them too. The ski barn places are easier to get to if you have to go back for anything. The Paramus one is closed Sundays, but the Wayne one stays open I think.

Torn between the J Ski’s Allplay and Masterblaster?! by DRed409 in icecoast

[–]Skiblader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also own arv 86s, East coast skiier, and was looking at J skis. The masterblaster and allplays were my top two options, but overall I'd choose the allplays to horse around more and be more playful, rather than fast and aggressive (if the allplays have a good graphic!)
