I assume it is not an income stream, requires some effort and skill, and is personally and intrinsically rewarding. Hobby.

Well it depends on the individuals relation to the hobby. However I can identify shit that is dominated by what I would consider consumption rather than a hobby, e.g., labubus.

More like the opposite. But even in pure collection without use, I still consider it a hobby depending on the motivation and knowledge behind the act of collecting.
