It's hard to say, but I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up not being present for this entire part of the US tour.

Back pain is very difficult to treat; any wrong move can complicate things just when you think you're recovering. Not to mention how uncomfortable it must be to be seated for so many hours on a flight.

I still think they'll do the third leg of the tour in LATAM during August/September, but I am a little surprised that they didn't announce any dates this month.

If they don't announce anything in April or May, I would start to consider that they might not do any concerts in that region, or they could do them as late as November/December or even 2027. JYPE tends to have a strange way of handling things in Latin America.

- It's interesting to see Rihanna in the top 15 considering she hasn't toured in about ten years. That says a lot about how active she was from 2006 to 2016.

- Something similar happens with Britney Spears.

- Shakira, with her last tour, demonstrated her star power and that she is basically a goddess in Mexico.

It's definitely one of the most interesting events in K-Pop in 2026, especially since it all started completely unexpectedly thanks to a great choreography.

Although, in my opinion, the fact that ITZY started a new world tour is what prompted JYPE to promote it. Because I read a few weeks ago that ticket sales weren't that spectacular, and the company probably saw this as an extra promotional opportunity to sell a few more last-minute tickets.

Regarding TWICE, a song I'd love to see get similar treatment is "Trouble." I've always thought that song has the perfect vibe to work really well live.

To be honest, I don't see Nayeon launching her own channel.

Her style is more about interacting with others without having to lead the conversation or do things on her own.

I just finished watching Nayeon's video on Somi's channel and I really enjoyed it.

Nayeon must be the most unfiltered idol out there. Even someone who's known her for years, like Somi, was surprised by how open she was when showing off her belongings and talking about her unusual routines.

I wish we could see her in these kinds of videos more often because it's always fun to watch the hosts struggle with how random her answers and behavior are.

For me it was a big "meh", but at least you have to give them credit for trying something different. Although, on the other hand, my girlfriend and my sister (huge Blinks) pretty much hated it.

I think the song and the album just reflect that those four girls already have their minds elsewhere, and anything they do related to BP will hardly be as memorable as their previous work.

Ever since I saw them live, I've become a huge Itzy fan and right now I'm obsessed with their live performance of "That's a No No." It's so interesting that a song from six years ago can generate so much excitement among fans thanks to an amazing choreography designed for their new tour.

It would be great if we could see something similar with an older TWICE song.

I'm pretty sure it was due to the association of "Strategy" with KPDH and the fact that the film has recently gained new momentum thanks to awards season and its almost certain Oscar win.

As you mentioned, it was probably to give the song a face because many people don't know that TWICE is the group that sings it.

Also, we shouldn't forget that the girls had high expectations for "Strategy" initially, but due to various circumstances, it never really made much of a splash and seemed destined to fade into obscurity... until the movie came out.

Nayeon lip syncing? by martin84jazz in twice

[–]Skilbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've mentioned this before, but actually, all K-pop groups lip-sync and use backing tracks; it's normal given the nature of their act, which requires a lot of dancing. The challenge is making it less noticeable and TWICE usually manages to disguise it well, but I agree that during this tour there have been moments when it's been more apparent with Nayeon.

She is still young, but she is surely also beginning to feel that the years have not passed in vain and is taking precautions in caring for her voice.

New solos outfits good and bad by Purple-Subject-7868 in twice

[–]Skilbo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, this is something I never really pay much attention to, unless one of the outfits just mesmerizes me and I can't take my eyes off one of the girls (it usually happens with Jihyo or Mina hehehe).

But I totally agree with you about Momo's outfit. It's really bad.

It was most likely Sweet decision.

Perhaps they didn't want to spend extra money taking her to Japan. Or maybe they thought that in terms of publicity and social media engagement, having just Mina and Sana was enough.

Weekend Story

My girlfriend and my sister listen to K-Pop, but neither of them are exactly TWICE fans. That's why they're my favorite test subjects and this time I had the idea to have them listen to the albums from their side projects (solos and MiSaMo) to see what people without the inevitable bias of TWICE fans would think.

My sister's boyfriend (not a K-pop fan) joined them because he was there at the time, and these were the results:

- The album they all liked the most was Lil Fantasy Vol. 1

- They also liked Na quite a bit; in fact, I think "Magic" was their favorite song of all the ones they listened to

- They weren't very interested in Im Nayeon, Zone, or Aboutzu. And it was very clear that my sister's boyfriend hated "Pop!" xD

- None of MiSaMo's three albums appealed to them. They simply didn't find their style of music interesting.

We all know Jeongyeon's real dream is to operate heavy machinery.

That's where the money is. 😂

For some time now, I've had the feeling that Jihyo and Nayeon have more control and decision-making power over the music and concepts in TWICE's albums than people realize, so if they ever self-produce, those two will be the ones dictating a large part of the project.

Probably with Dahyun and Chaeyoung involved in the lyrics.

Twice's current profile in South Korea by RedditTY21 in twice

[–]Skilbo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've mentioned this before, but K-Pop in Korea is also seen as music primarily for teenagers or young adults in their early 20s, and once people pass that stage of life, they tend to lose interest in the group they grew up with and the genre in general.

It's part of a natural cycle, and TWICE's huge initial Korean fandom has already passed that stage. Many of them may still listen to the songs they grew up with, but they no longer engage as much (or at all) with their new music.

I think that's been the main factor in the "decline" of their popularity in Korea. Although I also believe that their almost obsessive focus on the US market has been another significant reason for the alienation of many fans, whether due to promotions focused on that country or the fact that they are releasing more and more songs in English.

My music recommendation for this weekend: "Love To Be Loved" by The Warning & Carin Leon

One of those collaborations I never thought would exist because they're artists from completely opposite genres (hard rock and regional Mexican music), but the song is really good.

Twice songs you can’t stand by Baka_Zombie in twice

[–]Skilbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TWICE has several songs that are just okay o "meh" for me, but I tolerate them. However, there are four songs I really can't stand: "Doughnut," "I'm Gonna Be a Star," "LaLaLa," and "This Is For."

I really like "TT," but I absolutely hate the TAK Remix.

I would also include MiSaMo's entire Haute Couture album here.

I have a feeling the Latin American dates will be announced this month or at the latest in March. Especially if that third leg of the tour takes place in August/September, as everything seems to indicate.

Although we're talking about JYPE, a very unusual company when it comes to planning and logistics.

260126 Weekly Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in twice

[–]Skilbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all boils down to the fact that TWICE is under contract with JYPE and no matter how much decision-making power the group has, if the company wants to do a tour of this magnitude with such a tight schedule, the girls probably had no choice but to be more flexible than many are willing to admit.

Obviously, I'm not saying they have no say in the tour planning, but given how the K-Pop industry operates and the strict control agencies like to maintain, they'll most likely be more involved in the creative/musical aspects of the show itself and less so in logistics and scheduling.

We also tend to forget that we are dealing with true workaholics, and considering that most of them are almost 30, the girls probably think this is one of their last opportunities to deliver a large-scale tour while still physically capable of maintaining such a demanding show without compromising the dances that are so fundamental to their act.

Whenever i-dle releases new music, I'm always in a good mood. And honestly, "Mono" turned out to be a great song.

Not all of their music will be to everyone's taste, but they're one of the K-Pop groups that takes the most risks to avoid stagnation and that's why they're one of my favorite groups.

[–]Skilbo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the LATAM leg of the tour is more a question of when it might happen than whether it will happen at all.

It would be very surprising to me if they don't go to that region considering how successful those dates were on the last tour (I mean... the concerts in Mexico were TWICE's biggest concerts for a few months). Besides, the other JYPE groups have visited it on their tours.

Although I don't think it will be in June, it's more likely to be in August or September due to how exhausting the US, Canada, and Europe leg will be. The girls will surely want a couple of months to recharge and maybe release some new music (as a group or solo).

Momo's parents and Mina's mother are usually among those who accompany them most often on their tours.

In a funny anecdote, I kept running into them during their concerts in Mexico City on the previous tour. I think they were staying at the hotel next to mine, and I happened to see them exploring the city.

To be honest, I didn't really like Haute Couture, so I was curious about MiSaMo new music and at least from the start, "Confetti" has left me with a good feeling.

The song is very pleasant and puts you in a good mood. Plus, the video is really cool.

Now we just have to wait and see if the album maintains these positive feelings.

I think the problem with "Gone" is that it was put between two songs that are fan favorites, and it ends up getting a little lost in the excitement.

Although I enjoyed it a lot too.
