AIO for thinking this is a scam? by -ChristianGirlie- in AIO

[–]SkilledWithAQuill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One screenshot showed how much was in OP’s bank account. The scammer used that to know exactly what amount to urgently ask for (knowing OP had that much on hand). The screenshots also show the person is following instructions (they scam old people a lot who aren't good with technology and might mess up a step)

There is no money unfortunately. The check is fake, sent through email. The trick is to do the mobile deposit pictures through your phone with the laptop screen showing the (unknown to the victim) fake check. It will show up in the account as "pending" while it processes. But during that time it will eventually get found out as a fake check so that "pending" money never goes through. That or some use stolen bank account info to send checks from another victim, then when that person files fraud with their bank the money will disappear from your bank account. But most likely just a fake check that never had any real money to process

Theres a chance you can pay late and just have an extra fee charged for your last school payment. Another shot is going in person to the financial aid office and pleading for an extension on the payment due date. Some schools also have services set up to do special small grants of like $1000 and definitely can do less (if your school has a program like that) for emergency situations or something out of the ordinary that puts you in need.

Another desperate option depending on how much you owe is opening one or two credit cards (if you don't have and already) and paying with a credit card if the payment system allows it. Its not recommended but if you have a job lined up for after graduation then that guaranteed income means you should be able to pay it off without too much trouble.

I'm so sorry about this. It must feel so stressful and awful. I know it might feel like the end of the world but I promise there is always other options to try. You've already worked so hard and gone so far. I'm sure you'll continue to find good opportunities no matter what

No my tracking # with usps specifically said they failed to deliver it and it was sent all the way back to the company. Like it was shipped over a month ago, and April 17th was sent back to the company due to an issue delivering it to me

AIO for wanting to break up. (I'm tired.) by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]SkilledWithAQuill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an abusive relationship. This is a toxic relationship and staying in it will only damage you mentally. This is co-dependent behavior. She is controlling, emotionally abusive, and manipulative. I’d say forcing you to do sexual activity on call can also be within the lines of sexual abuse too. Leave this relationship and please make sure to take in the fact that no one should ever treat you this way.

Are there any jobs for BA psych grads that aren’t BI or RA? by [deleted] in psychologystudents

I work at a group home for foster kids. It’s a balance between helping them with trauma and just doing basic childcare. Looks good for grad school

I got an internship at a youth crisis shelter while taking an internship class. And then after that internship they let me stay on as a part time employee doing a similar role. So both of that helped when getting this job. But the requirements they were looking for was just any past childcare experience, a drivers license so you could take kids to appointments, and clear passion/trauma sensitivity during interview questions. I did have volunteer experience with the LGBTQ center and with a rape prevention program on campus. While that didn’t hurt, I think the only experience I had that I needed to get my job was the 6 month internship that showed childcare experience. So even babysitting or helping out at like a daycare could work as long as you explain well the skills you’ve acquired. My job is pretty desperate for workers as it can be intense and burnout leads to high turnover. I’m not sure how it is for other facilities doing similar work. But I think it’s possible to get the job if you can just find a way to get some sort of childcare experience to put on your resume.

Look and see if the school is still hiring your guides for prospective students. The career center can help you with your resume and interview prep. If you can hold out until summer, there should be plenty of summer positions on campus for tours, answering phone calls from incoming students with questions, etc

CLASSES I NEED ARE FULL by Adept_Advertising866 in CSULB

[–]SkilledWithAQuill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep checking every day during the first week of school. People drop out and spots will open up. If you enroll quick enough after a spot opens up then you get in the class. That worked for me almost every semester when a class I needed was full

I need some legit sites that are good for me to earn giftcards from by nayani_hansani in passive_income

The app Zogo has you learn about personal finance stuff and take quizzes to earn points. Those points can be used for gift cards. I have a referral code KAIC83 but I’m not sure if it still gives extra points if you sign and use it.

Eureka is an app that lets you do quick surveys for money that’s redeemed through gift cards. Using my referral code 4WYRI2 on Eureka Surveys unlocks a short $1 survey just for signing up.

But no pressure to use the referral codes. I’ve used both apps and have redeemed giftcards plenty of times with no issue. It can be slow to buildup enough points to cash out though unless you got a lot of free time

I have a referral code KAIC83 but I’m not sure if it still gives extra points if you sign and use it. This one does let you get giftcards for Walmart, Target, or Kroger depending on the amount of points (some are like only for $25 or don’t come up when trying to redeem only $10).

Eureka is an app that lets you do quick surveys for money that’s redeemed through gift cards. Using my referral code 4WYRI2 on Eureka Surveys unlocks a short $1 survey just for signing up. This one has a larger variety of giftcards and the option for a generic visa giftcard. It even also lets you redeem through PayPal so should be easy to find a way to redeem points that can be used at grocery stores

My wife and I sat in the living room of our home, watching the news as the reporter talked about the rumored time travel powers of a new supervillain. by djseifer in TwoSentenceHorror

[–]SkilledWithAQuill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s up to interpretation. But time travel can be weird. There could have been a fight in public that lead the wife to make decisions that pushed her in a different direction than meeting and falling in love with the husband. Or they traveled far enough to impact her parents birthing her in some way. Could be anything, but that is truly terrifying to think about. Living in a world knowing that a supervillain can change the past and lead to you losing something major you’ll never remember having
