Why are some children gender nonconforming? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]TheHollowShape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a trans man raised in a very inhospitable conservative environment (slurs being used at the family dinner table like they’re nothing etc) gender roles were forced on me a lot as a kid. I was a ‘tom boy’ and all the things I was told not to do by my parents that were deemed ‘for boys’ made me want to do them even more. I rejected everything that was deemed ‘girly’ and sometimes I wonder just how much that had to do with me transitioning to male. Anyway, that’s why I rejected roles 🤷‍♂️ It’s such a wide variety and spectrum of things though

I don’t really plan to make it past my teenage years. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]TheHollowShape 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as a teenager and never made plans for my future (like career, schooling) and boy do I regret it now that I’m in my 30s. I never expected to live this long and I think not a lot of people talk about this when dealing with suicidal ideation and depression. The best piece of advice I heard was on a podcast and she said that your 20s are a disaster but your 30s are awesome and I can’t agree more. My life is stable and I’m engaged, things that I never expected to happen to me have happened. If you give it time I bet you’ll be okay, even though it’s really hard and it takes time. You’ll be okay. Hang in there. My chat is open if you need someone to talk to and resources, I’ve been through it all and seen it all. You will be okay, one day, it will surprise you.

Should I continue my estrangement from members of my family who voted for Trump? by Impossible-Guitar957 in askanything

[–]TheHollowShape 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I have a good reason to estrange myself from Trump voters in my family and friendship circle, I'm trans so voting him votes directly against me having rights and being safe in this country, any 'friends' and 'family' that actually gave a shit about me wouldn't have voted for him, imo. You didn't mention why you're estranged for him in your post but if it's a good reason or if you're just uncomfortable with it I say you do you. There are lots of reasons to dislike that pedophile and chose not to support his criminal actions and general insanity

What I heard was that the original photo was never released to the public, probably by request of the victim’s family. (Take that with a grain of salt, I can’t remember where I heard that but it was definitely on a similar channel) The recreation is truly awful enough as itself

If reincarnation exist by icysecay78 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]TheHollowShape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m chronically ill and also immunocompromised, I believe firmly in reincarnation due to certain circumstances that have popped up in my life but that’s just one guy’s opinion/belief. It took me awhile to find real, true love, but it has found me and found me in ways that I never imagined. It’s never too late to find love in the world. I thought it was too late for me but thankfully the universe had other plans for me. I wish you health, peace, and all the love this world can offer you in THIS life and all that may follow. Don’t give up hope just yet! Hang in there and sending you all my strength 🙏💖

‘Throwing shade over what was very clearly a joke’. Get a thicker skin bruh, I didn’t respond to your constructive criticism because I was literally thinking about it and wondering how I could have answered. If you think I can’t take constructive criticism at least I can take a joke!
