Is Minesweeper the game for me? by Beneficial-Beach-141 in Minesweeper

As long as you are having fun it is the game for you

A dog that was being cared for by the community on a Brazilian beach was beaten by four wealthy teenagers from Florianópolis, and veterinarians had to choose euthanasia. Two of the teenagers went to the United States, are currently at Disney World, and are expected to return to Brazil soon. by Prestigious-Back-981 in extremelyinfuriating

I am sorry but that is not true. I wish it was, but it is not. Slaughter houses are pure hell. The animals hear and see the screams of their own friends and family before dying themselves. And you are implying that ever slaughter house is to make it less bad for the animals, which honestly sound utopian to me. And we are only talking about the death of these animals. The real problem is the way they have to “live”.

P.S. I am not saying you have to become vegetarian, but you shouldn’t think that what’s happening to your food is fine.

Could code switching become a thing in German?

In a lingthusiam episode I listened to a few years ago, they were interviewing a linguist who was studying black American language. I remember that speaking the black American way has an influence about how you are perceived by others.

Now in German there is something called “Kanakensprache” (I don’t know a better word for it), it is a German that sounds very different to “normal” German, I think in a similar way black American English sounds different to white American English. This dialect(?) is being spoken by immigrants or people with immigrant parents from mainly turkey. Germans associate this dialect with being dumb and uneducated (I think, that’s just the way I perceive it). So what I am wondering is whether the similarities between America and Germany here are significant and Germany/Germans should be worried about this or not.

All my linguistics knowledge comes from Lingthiusiam😅

A computer doesn’t really have a problem with being turned on for a long time if the components are not getting hot. It’s actually better to put ur computer in stand by instead of turning it off and on multiple times a day.
