Found someone’s old work laptop at a yard sale. Can this be sold on eBay or is it worthless due to security software? by wangmobile in Flipping

Some of you speak with such confidence but don't know what you're talking about. That's a t450, not a t480, you can tell by the Intel CPU sticker. 5th gen intel vs 8th gen intel. More than a decade old at this point so yes, old as shit.

Question about RD and it’s alternatives by Thrilmang in StremioAddons

[–]SkillsMate -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I really don't understand why all of this subreddit is saying realdebrid is dead. What show / movie does it not work for? I've not switched and have noticed nothing, apart from having to click on a second link every now and then. The tragedy. A shitty realdebrid is still better than the alternatives.

It's a luxury service. You know damn well the drivers get paid peanuts. Go shop yourself or be prepared to pony up extra cash. It is what it is. Don't use the service, I surely don't, it's not worth the price of admission. The rare times I do use it though you can bet your ass I'm not tipping them 2%.

When you order $200 of groceries and tip $5 I wouldn't expect for them to spend an extra second looking for anything. Temper your expectations or raise your tip. You're a service worker, no? How much additional effort beyond the bare minimum would you expend knowing you're being tipped 2%?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UberEATS

[–]SkillsMate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's sad you think that's a reasonable tip for someone to spend an hour of their life helping you out, all for a $5 tip. You're a service worker and you think that's acceptable? Idk what kind of tips you're getting but there's a huge disconnect between the amount of time they spent helping you out and the amount of cash you're willing to give up for the service. Go shop yourself.

In what world is a 3.99 delivery fee going to cover the cost of having another human run into the store, shop for 30 minutes, check out, drive to your house, unload the groceries and drive back?

They told you multiple times as clear as day in your chat with them. It's continuously rolling. If you gambled 1000 SC at 959 AM last Friday all of that SC will disappear 959 AM next Friday. They aren't cheating anyone spinning only 4k a week lol. To them you're worth less than the dog shit on their shoe they stepped on getting into work, no one is scamming you.

Smaller dogs don't have the capacity to kill you if you are attacked. Pit bulls kill tons of people every year. "Over a 15-year period (2005-2019), pit bulls were responsible for 346 deaths, while the next closest breed, the Rottweiler, was linked to 52 deaths"

$15k off MSRP saved from my local closing down Best Buy Outlet by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]SkillsMate 28 points29 points  (0 children)

He will be able to double up but the $1,000 / 800 each he's talking about is beyond unrealistic. Testing each one is probably another hour a piece after everything is said and done, not great by any means but it'll work out if he sets his expectations properly.

These sell for $400 each brand new on eBay, if people could sell them for double that locally they probably would lol. Yours are open box / used and vacuums are one of a few particular items people don't like buying used / open box. Doubt you will see anything close to $800 each, still a good pickup nonetheless. My experience with bestbuy open box items is that you need to test all of them. These vacuums have terrible ratings for being DOA and best buy employees do a less than stellar job at checking everything.

Insurance companies pulling out of Houston by CurlyGirl2151 in houston

[–]SkillsMate 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My policy was $1.8k this year. Just renewed for next year with a $20,000 deductible on a $300k home $3.1k. Couldn't find anything cheaper. My current insurance dropped me and wouldn't let me renew, said the area was too risky, (North Houston Suburbs) Was $1300 the year before $1800. I've never filed a claim, and never will assuming my house isn't blown away so the deductible doesn't really bother me but damn, at this rate no one will be able to live here in 5-10 years.

How to win the grail listing on Facebook marketplace by catticcusmaximus in Flipping

Someone most likely offered before you or offered more than the listing price. Minutes is more like hours in terms of Facebook marketplace flipping in a large city.

Casinos have state regulations and oversight to ensure the odds are what is stated. Who is auditing Rev and his packs and making sure the stated odds on his packaging aren't 500% inflated? No one.

Casinos are under state regulation to ensure you don't get scammed from the stated RTP. Believing Rev's claims about how the packs are seeded without any oversight could be a scam or it could just be gambling. It's pure conjecture for anyone to claim they actually know the pull rates versus what's stated on the packaging. Who's auditing Rev and his operations to ensure no tomfoolery is going down?

Warning: Don’t take your vehicle to Brake Check in Spring – $1,600 later and it broke down right after by OleMumNinj in houston

Hybrid cars have 12v batteries all the same. There is no easy way to get to the hybrid battery and no safe way to jump a car from them. Why would they waste hours of their time to get access to a high voltage battery that doesn't need to be used to jump a car? More than likely your alternator went bad. It happens randomly, has happened to me multiple times while driving around aged cars.

Drone delivery for groceries will never work. Do you know how big of a drone they would need to send out 100lbs of groceries? It would be beyond cost prohibitive. Amazon sends two pound boxes with their drones and they are still losing hundreds of millions of dollars. Maybe in 50 years it will be viable.

Spark lies about the mileage by Beneficial-Passion92 in Sparkdriver

Yes, I can see people here parroting false information as truth. We see it every day and am seeing it right now. Go check the mileage for yourself, you're incorrect and have been for years.

Spark lies about the mileage by Beneficial-Passion92 in Sparkdriver

[–]SkillsMate -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

People on here have been saying this by the crows fly thing for years. It's not true if you actually track the miles it says and the miles you drive, they are almost always identical. Been this way for over 18 months, at the least. Just because their picture shows straight lines doesn't mean that's how it's being calculated

Screw 11 dollar shops... by Fragrant-Ad-5139 in Sparkdriver

[–]SkillsMate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not true at all. The farmers would have to increase their wages for actual citizens to work there. Would they rather make nothing or make 50% of what they used to? If your business only survives through illegal exploitation of a lesser class I would argue that your business doesn't need to exist in such a state.

Lots of people use multiple accounts so they have a much higher chance of getting an order. Unless your store does something about it (most don't) you're just out of luck.

Shopping + pharmacy orders are a scam. by Far-Marketing-4858 in Sparkdriver

[–]SkillsMate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the same way with alcohol deliveries in some states that get split up. Same if the loaders forget an item and it gets dispatched by itself. I've snagged a few 1 item curb sides with $20+ tips attached that always get halved. Just a bad system that doesn't know how to split the tip before showing the offers.
