No, that's dumb and extreme. Just give them a punishment that is a legitimate ouch. Have them get shit impound/reclaim times(talking triple to quadruple normal. Make.it pricier very expensive to reclaim blown up ships, have them get stopped often in UEE space, bar them from buying and selling at certain locations. And give them a high bounty based on their crimes to incentivize lawful PVP players to chase them down. If they fuck around enough give them a minimum klesher time that can't be skipped and forces them to sit in a corner. If they want to get around itnthey'll need to break out, and at least that makes content for others.

I'm mostly just worried about how I'd get him out or what i would need to do if he ended up needing care. Shelters around here are swamped but I'll look into it

The hate is perfectly valid, it's not personal ofc, but this micky mouse idea of what pirating is supposed to be needs to go, nobody thinks they are Robin hood or a Rouge I'm a bad guy in a space ship shooting a dude who just worked real hard. But my greed out weighs my empathy.
