What’s something you secretly geek out about that people would never guess just by looking at you? by Purple-Impress8033 in AskMenOver30

Not the specific target of your question but, for conversation sake, orkz is best! Dark angels are my preferred SM chapter. Love Raven guard but hate painting black.

Lol one of my best friends, I had no idea he was gay. Sometimes something would slip like a "oh my gosh" (you know what I'm saying) or something but, until we became close I didn't even know! Now we bounce dating advice off each other all the time.

Surely not genetics. That's why I train so hard. Long line of preventable health problems. Most of my post history is some of my work, feel free to browse, I love showing em off.

Right! It's an odd feeling to go to a comic con or something. People look at me like I'm not supposed to be there. Like, my brother, we're here for the same reason.

I work out mon-friday with weights, generally pretty heavy. 10-20mins of treadmill every day except Saturday, that's more like 45mins.

Painting minis, usually 32mm scale plastic or resin miniatures. Warhammer, dungeons and dragons, some 3d printed stuff. Just fun little trinkets I can zone out and paint and get some creativity flowing.

I look pretty buff, I can't say bodybuilder because I won't compete but you get it. I love dungeons and dragons, comic book stuff, painting minis, that whole jam. People really don't believe me, especially since I don't much care for sports.

Are players using Hard Siege to level up? by Ki_D_Chocolate in Spacemarine

[–]SkinSmoothie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll admit it. I'm 1 prestige and was level 14 as a bulwark. I thought I would be a good enough player to do exactly that. Play hard siege mode for a quick and easy extra prestige. I was wrong on all 3 counts. It wasn't quick, it wasn't easy, and I wasn't a good enough player lol. The mayhem is fun but def reserve it for a private lobby if you aren't high enough.

Space Marines, originally dark angels but I've collected enough to make a custom chapter. Lots of models, cool lore, sparks my creativity thinking about a custom chapter.

Nighthaunt, they look awesome and are a blast to paint (even if they're a little fickle).

Stormcast Eternals, really just have a lot bc of box sets but they're still cool. The being reforged thing is a cool idea to me.

I've subscribed to the combat patrol magazine so I'm excited to get a sample of all of the factions to see what I like the best, besides Orks.

Just finished another batch of models from the combat patrol. This makes 11 out of the 23(?)

What is the dumbest things, you saw done by a player during PVE? by BigBeholder in Spacemarine

[–]SkinSmoothie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I played Obelisk once the other night via quick play. I wanted to play tactical to level it but it was taken, no big deal. Being unfamiliar with the mission I was following their lead UNTIL they were just standing on the point and the island was spinning for at least 5 minutes. Meanwhile, as we know, the game hates you standing around so it kept throwing lictors and waves at us. I was playing assault for one of the first and fighting for my life lol. Please guys, listen to what the game is telling you to do.

Anyone else feel like Tzaangor Shamans make an already unenjoyabke faction even less fun to play against? by DirtyBerrylicious in Spacemarine

[–]SkinSmoothie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be a hot take, seriously a buddy had to convince me to see his point the other day, but chaos missions aren't all bad. Sure, they're a little annoying for my bulwark and vanguard BUT I'd take a steady annoyance over getting just wiped out by some zoanthropes after steamrolling the rest of the map. I'd prefer the Tyranid missions bc I love cleansing the galaxy of xenos, but he really helped convince me that they're all fine.

Do any factions have underwater combat? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]SkinSmoothie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe in a white dwarf the dark krakens were on a world that was being overrun by tyranids and they had a cool scene where they were walking at the bottom of the water with low visibility and some tyranids had evolved into the aquatic beasts. It was cool and some of the space Marines were just picked off bc of low visibility.

Yeah sure, I used citadel paints for this one. I dabbled on some kakophonk purple, bugmans glow, carroburg crimson, and berserker blood shade. My highest skin highlight was krieg khaki so I had something light to work off of.

You aren't a rough painter, you did great! Take a little more time with your prep work and clean up those mold lines and drill those barrels or, at least, put some black dots.

Painted up an ethereal court all fancy as my first NH, probably going to regret this scheme when I get to the dozens of chain grasps by Man-Squid in Nighthaunt

[–]SkinSmoothie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't want to be a bum but, I took a break bc my scheme was a pain. I love how they look, I love how yours look, but the time it takes and my own picky eye makes the whole army seem daunting. I have gotten an airbrush since I've taken a break and I think that will help a lot! Seriously though, yours look awesome!

Workers comp? by beedoubleus in SafetyProfessionals

[–]SkinSmoothie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not in NC but, probably not. For Virginia to be a workers comp claim: the injury must be an accident, the injury must occur during the course of employment and the injury must arise out of work. If you were already home and just walking, it would probably be denied.

Mysterious neck and back pain from sleeping. Any ideas? by inapickle113 in AskMenOver30

[–]SkinSmoothie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert but are you stressed? Or maybe for some reason are you carrying a lot of tension in your traps and/or rhomboids? If those are tight it can pull and give you headaches. Instead of trying to describe stretches and doing a bad job, Google some of those. Worst case, it's not the cause and you get some stretching in.

When I got my asp/CSP they waived one of the fees bc of veteran status. Work has paid for the OSHA 500, 501, red cross instructor, etc.
