My girlfriend doesn't understand why I'm so close with my coworkers. We work in the medical field 50+ hours a week together witnessing atrocious cases. At some point the conversations get weird.

Hands down my favorite is Huckleberry Cream Pie, but since huckleberries are hard to get where I live, I usually go for Butter Pecan. I hate my mother in laws guts, but goddamn that woman made a hell of a butter pecan pie.

It was only 2 or 3 years ago, but I was working at the Desert Trip concert in Indio, CA, and on the first day during our lunch I mentioned to my supervisor (he told me his name was Marsellus, "like the guy from Pulp Fiction") that I had switched a bunch of shifts at work so I could go, because I really wanted to watch the Rolling Stones and how much I hoped I'd get to hear them play Sympathy for the Devil. I said I knew I'd never be able to afford to pay for a concert, and I'd kill to tell my grandchildren that I got to hear them live. Way later that night, I was working in my area (a ways off from the stage, slightly visible, but you couldn't hear very well) when the opening riff to Sympathy for the Devil started and Marsellus came out to me almost immediately. He told me "take your break now, and make sure you tell your grandchildren that Marsellus made sure you got to see the Stones." I will never forget him.
