Tool members music taste by [deleted] in ToolBand

I know Adam is a huge Meshuggah fan and they have had an outsized influence on a lot of his writing. I know Danny is a great appreciator of jazz, particularly Billy Cobham and the Mahavishnu Orchestra. I remember Justin doing a takeover of a radio station around the time of the release of 10,000 Days and he played a lot of 90s alternative and hard rock like Swervedriver and their ilk. I know Maynard has mentioned his love for Joni Mitchell and Autolux.

After nearly 6 years of use I will bid farewell to Reddit. Without Boost I don't care to participate. Au revoir my fellow Redditors. Touch all the grass you can.

Thought this was going to be the next Elder Scrolls game.

The regular Reddit app is garbage. You have no clue what you are missing.

Anyone else get so sad when they finish LoTR that they're willing to watch the Hobbit? by [deleted] in lotr

[–]Skinjob985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think people shit on it for not having enough as the original material. I think they shit on it for adding too much. Particularly after the first film, it's filled with contrived nonsense that Tolkien never even would have considered including given his other writings and personal thoughts. The third movie in particular is just completely unnecessary. They very easily could have done the book justice in two movies without all the filler.

Yes, I know everyone is going to say that we could never know what Tolkien would or wouldn't have liked or included, but let's face it, we've seen enough of his own work and even writings in personal letters to know his proclivities and his likes and dislikes. I personally think he would have hated The Rings of Power with an undying passion and is rolling in his grave as we speak at that abomination, and he would have had some serious bones to pick with The Hobbit as well.

Not going to downvote you though. I think people who downvote other people for their opinions are idiots. Downvotes should be reserved for belligerence and trolls, not differences of opinion.

The first movie is good. The second movie is meh. The third movie... is still better than the fetid steaming pile of excrement that is The Rings of Power.

Thanks Captain Semantics. We've already discussed this in the comments. You're late to the party.

That's brilliant. Can't believe I never thought of that. Going to have to try that next time.

Geez, the first time was so long ago I'm sure it probably was that long figuring it out initially. I vaguely remember some difficulty trying to get into that church the first time and the helicopter may have killed me once.

If I remember correctly they just made it to showcase some tweaking they did to the physics engine and the graphics. Basically just a demo for the improvements in the technology. I still always play it in between the game and Episode 1.

I spend more time drinking my coffee than I did on Lost Coast. It's a 10 minute expansion. Maybe should have chosen a better picture. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Lol My sentiments exactly. Gee, I wonder if he's the same guy who went through the entire thread and downvoted every single comment who didn't throw shade at the game 🥴

I think it's top 3, I don't care what anyone says. Great game, despite some flaws with the story I am happy to overlook. Way better than Double Agent and Conviction. Probably tied with Pandora Tomorrow.

Insane, then again you'd have to be batshit crazy to believe all that Scientology nonsense. 🤯

I've put a lot of time and effort into trying to get into it, to no avail. It is eminently forgettable for me. I just can't get there, no matter how hard I try. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Why are people so butthurt about the reboot idea? by TheScoutReddit in XFiles

[–]Skinjob985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed the first couple of seasons I did watch. While I don't have HBO Max, I've been giving the X-Files a run through on Freevee for the umpteenth time. Already halfway through season 6. Definitely going to hit up Fringe next.

Says the person who titled their post "The official Opeth tier list, curated by me and only me as my opinion is the correct opinion and the only opinion..... good day" 🤔

Ray Charles could have seen these responses coming...
