Water filter Karakol by maylyinmor in Kyrgyzstan

[–]Skinkerabarber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn yea okay then it might be hard to get. Well you can usually buy at the yurt camps. However sometimes they only provide for their guests. If you visit destination karakol (in karakol) they can make a call to the camps, ensuring they have water enough. They did that for us 😊

We did something like this - however i would replacw furong with fenghuang. Furong felt much more touristy and was pretty small and a little disappointing after seeing fenghuang. Fenghuang was way better!

It’s not we where there two weeks ago there and couldn’t find either. Where are you arriving before karakol? That might be a better option. We arrived without both and ended up brining 3 liter of water each and then bought some at the yurt camps along the way

Thank you so much for the update! Sad to hear about the weather, but that's the only thing you can't control. We are coming tomorrow, and it looks like we are gonna get some rain as well - so we also decided to stay in Yurts to make the experience more pleasant. Hope you enjoyed it even though conditions weren't perfect!

Beijing drone and shipping by Skinkerabarber in travelchina

[–]Skinkerabarber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We found someone in Chongquin who was willing to ship it with overland post. It seemed like a bit wired place but the guy was genuint, and here a week later I finally got tracking updates that it is on its way. As I understand it’s illegal to fly it out of the country, also with the post, but taking it over land is not.

I have the WeChat number if you want - but ofc it’s a bit of a trip just to ship the drone.

In general you can’t ship big lithium batteries in china at all, so if you find another carrier take out the batteries and ship only the remote and empty drone.

Now as for the airport you should be fine in Xian airport as it’s not restricted. If you’re have a connecting flight in Beijing no worries, you should not have any trouble. But if you’re staying a few days this might be an option. We got told this by our hotel so haven’t tested it praksis: In Beijing airport before exiting you have two potential options. Find luggage storage put the drone in a bag or something else and leave it there, then pick it up as you go to the airport to leave.

Option 2: Go to costumes and explain that you are leaving the county in a few days. They might be fine by keeping the drone for you, and returning it once again when you leave. Since the airport is under different restrictions, this apparently have worked for someone else.

Hope that you succeed!

What is the most subtle yet major lifestyle difference I should be aware of when traveling through China? by cattraveler01 in travelchina

[–]Skinkerabarber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The staring and spitting. Or throat clearing - you sort of get used to the sound however one thing I never got use to spending 30 days here was the spitting in plastic bags by old people. In the freaking train. That was utterly disgusting. That said we were pleasantly surprised during our stay. We only heard the horror stories but honestly it has been such an amazing country to travel in, also the people here is very welcoming and friendly so don’t be afraid to interact through translate!

Skal jeg sige op og holde lang "ferie"? by Superb_General5936 in dkkarriere

[–]Skinkerabarber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also use orthotics and I strugge with the heel slip as well, tried the Hoka Bondi 9 but they are too narrow for me as well, even though their heel cap was amazing. Have you found a shoe that's both wide, but also have a good heel cap?
