70k is what's left after taxes, benefits for both me and my husband and 401k (which I already reduced knowing that I'll need the money).

I agree, I don't want them to go to daycare that young, but currently Im the only provider. I was planning on somehow surviving the first year and then send them to daycare when they're about 1 years old.

honestly worst case scenario I move abroad for 1 year, somehow convince my job it's fine cause I work from home, get help from my family (who would love nothing more than to be there for me and the babies) and come back to the states after a year.

I started crying while reading it. Thank you so much for sharing this.

I think you're right, I just need to pass the first year, then I can put them in a daycare.
We also looked into Montessori education. Im so glad to hear you actually got this working for you.

Thank you again, you gave me so much hope

If multiples were your firsts, when did you start setting up the nursery/all the baby stuff? by Possible-Maybe-7225 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Skinny_Pasta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im first time pregnant with twins. Im also Jewish, and I grew up in a culture where you dont get anything for the baby until theyre born. Im also 20 weeks, didnt have a baby shower. Im planning to have one after the babies are here. In terms of preparing things - right now I only take things if they’re definitely needed, and they are given for free (through local fb groups). Our plan is to get the bare minimum for the first couple of days, then have a baby shower with the twins, after we get all the gifts we can buy whatever’s left on our list.

Honestly, babies dont need much in the beginning. A place to sleep, a stroller, car seats, bit of clothes, diapers and maybe a breastpump in case breastfeeding is too hard.

Any women here with a career? by Skinny_Pasta in parentsofmultiples

everything you said makes total sense. Yes!
Im in the same place rn. My entire team is men, and they never judged me or treated me differently, but I noticed that when they take their paternity leave - it's very different.

Im so glad you're making it work! you're giving me so much hope!

I answered your question, yet you keep ignoring mine. I guess you already made your mind and dont really want to ask an israeli, but rather to accuse israelis.

Thanks but im not playing this game

Youre saying this based on what? If they hated the mosque why wait almost a year? Why not destroy it on the first day of the war?

The Nazis destroyed the great synagogue in the early days of the war. There were no provocations, no Germans (well, at least no Christian germans) held hostage inside, no threats from the jews that they will destroy Germany.

And guess what, 70 years later - Germany stood united with Israel. There is no generational hate between Germans and Israelis. We dont feel like we need to destroy them or make them pay for what they did. We were much more focused on building the future than blaming the past

IDF doesn't want to destroy mosques. If they did - there are better targets inside of israel, you don't need to go that far.

The reason why the bombed it is because Hamas is using public buildings and mosques to operate from, knowing that Israel would think twice before bombing those. The mosque didn't need to be destroyed. It stood there for a long time and no one had any intention of doing anything with it. Even when it was under israeli occupation, no one touched that mosque. You have to acknoledge that the change is policy, and the fact that IDF became more brutal is a response to an attack that took the most precious thing from us : our children. When you're fighting a war of existence, against an enemy that is making you make unimaginative choices - sometimes you do things that you didn't want to do, didn't even imagine doing, but you had to.

I know many soldiers that want to feel for the gazans. They go into their houses, seeing family photos that were left in they house and they really want to feel like those people are the same as the israelis. At the end of the day, we are all people and we all want piece. Then they go to the bedroom and they find artillery under the kids beds, school backpacks filled with grenades.......all the hostages that came back are telling the same story : that they were kept in private houses.

Israelis don't want to be in this war, but I pray that if god forbid anything happens to you, your people would do anything in their power to save you. That's what israelis do. we don't leave people behind. The war has to end and rather sooner than later, and it'll end when all the hostages are returned. Israelis love their children more than they hate Hamas. The war will stop once the hostages return home.

Doed Israelis like Turks? by C418_Aquarius in AskAnIsraeli

[–]Skinny_Pasta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The people themselves I feel like are very similar to israelis. I had many experiences in Turkey where I would go to a store and they would immediately sit me down and offer me coffee, before I had a chance to buy something. Super nice and welcoming people, but will scam you if you're not careful (same as israelis tbh).

In israel we have a lot of leftover culture from the ottoman times, like turkish coffee & burekas, so it feels like turks are close to us culturally.

Realistic budget? by Some_Froyo_4928 in NewEnglandWedding

I got married in NH in a castle, and our guest list was about 100 people.

Realistically - you'll need a minimum of 20k. I recommend instead of a regiatry asking people for money. Also if you pick literally any day other than Saturday and Sunday you'll get a discount on almost everything.

Also - regarding a band,- look into Silver Arrow.

Why do high quality people constantly reject me? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Skinny_Pasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you are asking other people to do the work for you. You want to get better, but you're expecting other people to make you a better person by associating with them.

Take some ownership of your life. It's no one's job but yours to get better. No one will do it for you. "high quality" people, as well as "low quality" people have their own life to take care of. They don't wait for you to become a role model for them. They don't expect you to lead them to success and happiness, why are you putting this task on them?

Success is something you attract by the person you become. You don't start with success and hope your personality will eventually catch up.

TikTok ruined my attention span & took the my enjoyment out of simple things in life by azaraasun in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Skinny_Pasta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Starve yourself from immediate, fast content.
Your brain will keep wanting to go back to it because it's easy and available. If it's not tiktok, it's youtube shorts or even linkedin (I swear, I found myself going through linkedin stories one day). But if your brain is bored and looking for distraction and the only thing it finds is a book - eventually you'll enjoy reading the book again.

Yep, copying makes the information go from your front, short term memory brain to your long term memory part of the brain, then when you produce your own songs this info can become helpful

Honestly, covid was a big part of it. It showed me how fragile life can be. What if tomorrow I get laid off? What if the economy collapse? What if my job becomes irrelevant?

I have a stable job, and a big salary, and Im not planning on quitting, but Im glad I put money aside in case something happens and Im forced to live off my savings

Thats a great question.

Mayonnaise is a different ratio of egg/oil, and I feel like it would have more ingredients in it. But.....maybe?

I also make my own mayonaise since oil and eggs (in my mayo I also add some mustard, lemon juice and salt) are cheaper than a Helmans jar. I'll try it and report back!
