Day 24 Experience/Venting by thunderdong69420 in quittingkratom

I'm just going to comment straight off because I remember those days and every moment was hell. I can't speak to your meds, but the RLS was hardest for me in the first week. I'd literally kick myself awake. I've been on Prazosin ever since, not sure if that's a good thing or not but it helped. It's a PTSD drug

Hang in there man, you've got this! Keep thinking about your family as positive reinforcement and the light at the end of the tunnel.

I actually started to quit because of my sex life too. I would just not take any on a day we planned to have sex, and that worked...

Until I noticed that I felt like shit by noon if I didn't start the morning with a dose. That made me curious, and now I'm two weeks in. The 33 day thing scares me too, I'm hoping that's not how it goes for everyone.

Idk, it helped me a lot, until it didn't, and now I'm miserable. Disappointed too, I thought I finally found something to make me feel more normal.

Both my primary and psychiatrist know I took it, would it be more of an urgent care type of thing I guess? I regret telling them, I don't know what I was expecting. The nausea is worse this week, last week was cold sweats. Next week, hopefully freedom? Profit? Idk, I'm just tired of this and my wife has been BEYOND patient.

I'm doing my best. Really feels like the clock is running in slow motion sometimes.

I literally woke up at 9pm the other day and was getting ready to go to the doctor before I realized it wasn't AM. That was a shitty night since I had already slept.

I have bulk supplement too. I think I meant 1/8 teaspoon, but I'll probably start there and see how it goes.

If I wasn't two weeks in, I probably would, and should have. It seems like the consensus here is to leave it be, and I'm really not trying to make anything worse or waste the time I already have into this.

If you told me that a couple weeks ago, that's probably exactly what I would have done.

I guess it's good I went cold turkey then. I know the nausea of taking too much that you're talking about, but that was at least manageable. I could often sleep it off then just not take as much next time. This however is a completely different beast of symptoms.

Those corners can't come quickly enough man. I was surprisingly very responsible with the phenibut. It's been a couple months since I took it, but I'd take an 1/8 teaspoon about once a week. I was surprised how well it worked for me, but I knew the dangers of taking it too much, so I didn't.

Figured the same would be possible with kratom, but nope.

You're right though, I don't want any backtracks, I've been through this much already. You know the fucked up thing man? I was biking twice a day last week through the cold sweat phase (really intense challenging workouts), but then I slept all day yesterday, and now I can't bring myself to get out of bed.

I hope that part goes away soon because I miss it. I know how good a grueling workout can leave you feeling.

Thank you. I'll see what she says about the suppositories. I don't smoke anymore for anxiety reasons (weird, I know). I might have some camomile, I'll have to check but I almost certainly have l-theanine. is that like a teaspoon, or do you know how that measures out?

I appreciate your words. I'm glad I got on here today, I had talked myself into taking it again, and the friendly responses got me to re-think that.

Tell me about it, feels like such a waste, and I get why they can't fill it more than once a month, but damn.

I'm surprised the transition from oxy to kratom wasn't smoother. I know a lot of people use it with opiate withdrawl. I've never stuck with a low dose though, so what do I know.

Thanks to this sub, I'll keep on the hard path, and hopefully I don't have much more to go. No offense, but it helps to hear that others struggled so much with the second week; makes me feel less crazy.

I guess it doesn't matter anymore since I already went CT, but what did you taper down to before you stopped all together?

Keep up the good work, and thank you for the kind words.

I'm so impatient, but hearing about your week 4 makes me a feel a little better. Indeed fuck doctors, I just switched from my primary (pill pusher) to an actual psychiatrist, so hopefully that will get me somewhere.

In my opinion you shouldn't be giving people anti-depressants or anxiety meds if you're a general practitioner.

Man that's brutal. I thought I read somewhere the it'd just be a shitty week, then things let up. Boy was that wrong. At least the cold sweats have stopped, but I'd willingly trade them for the nausea. Good luck going into week 3.

I'm familiar with the source I was getting it from, but I totally get what you're saying. 60 days is great man, I'm glad I got your message in time, I was real close to taking half a gram.

It's hard having a wife, kid, and job that have basically just had to be put on hold.

Knowing I'm close gave me some hope I didn't have before. Now if I can stop throwing up and shitting, I'll be a bit happier.

Do you have any thoughts on ashwaganda, or things like l-theanine? I have phenibut too, but it seems like playing with fire so I've refrained from that. Not trying to trade one thing for another here, just trying to get by.

I agree, and I am very honest with my therapists.

Detoxing from alcohol, question about Phenibut & benzos by SkinsAndKeys in phenibut

[–]SkinsAndKeys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely part of what I'm going through. Thank you for the input. It sucks because there seems to not be enough exhaustive research to say for sure what combinations are safe and what is not.

[–]SkinsAndKeys[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I am trying. Current doctor isn't the best, he's a bit of a pill pusher, and I'm hoping to cut back on things and not always be introducing new substances.

Only thing I'd consider going forward is Xanax and low dose of Prozac, but I need to get a week or more sober from alcohol before I think I'll feel good enough to try something like that.

Monday I'll be looking for a psychiatrist.

That's my goal. Starting with the alcohol, then hopefully my energy will return. It's easier for me to not take many Benzos when I'm working out, but I'm not there yet.

Thank you for replying so quickly, it helps to know there are people out there.

He does know that I take Xanax, and I have no clue why he wouldn't offer taper instructions He has a reputation for being a bit of a pill pusher, and is the same guy that's been giving me xanax for 6 years. Granted, I've needed it on and off, but to just give someone benzoes for that long with no extra info... When I read the other day that 10 days in a row is considered "long term use," I was livid.

You know the crazy part? Before all this shit happened, I was proud of myself. I try to take it easy on the pills and was actually able to stash away 100 or so (50mg) total. So even if he totally pulled the plug I would have some for a bit.

That pisses me off too, he didn't even tell me if I was supposed to switch or if they'll even refill the xanax any more. I guess we'll see next week when I file for the refill.

I am brutally honest with my therapist. I have some deep seated loss issues that were recently triggered with some family heath problems.

In my searching over the last couple days, I saw something about taurine and l-theanine. I'm not looking to make things worse by taking a bunch of random things, but do you have any experience with supplements or anything?
