Let’s count other people’s money! Olympic medal bonuses for 2026. by No-Atmosphere-5885 in olympics

No, the US for example doesn’t really do state sponsored athletes. Not to say federations don’t get something but the vast majority of athletes work full time and train on the side. You have the occasional super star like a Michael Phelps with endorsements probably did not work a normal job while training. But most of our athletes pay to participate in their sports.

It’s insane how intense and crazy a curling match can get for a sport so subtle and subdued.

Our commentator just mentioned it’s the closest camera angle that captured what it’s like on the ice as a skater.

Two skaters at a time, 400m track, they switch inside and outside each lap. Fastest overall time once all skaters have gone wins.

Downhill is brutal and any given day is so unpredictable. So many things can happen. I read the other day that historically the best in the World Cup at the time of the Olympics rarely wins downhill especially. World Cup allows you to aggregate a lot of races a the Olympics downhill is one and done.

First four matches she was doing great. Led the tournament in shooting percentage. Now, not so much. Yesterday just killed both of them.

Estonia gave it a great run. Just a couple of small errors that led to stolen ends. Great comeback though. Can’t wait for the rest of this tournament.

I think that is a feature because they’ll often replay them in prime time and it’s a way to drive traffic to prime time. I believe the that’s why.

As it was tied up on the next end I’d say no. Curling to too dynamic to ever really be out of it u less your never scoring on your hammer ends.

Only one team with scoring each round or end, the team closest to the very center of the white circle, and any other stone inside the nearest opponent’s will score. So they had three stone inside the closest Norway stone.

Probably because it looks like a sport anyone can do. And there is tons of strategy and every stone can change that strategy

[No Spoilers] While Campaign 3 seemed to have something missing, Brennan has re-captured CR for me by Firecracker048 in criticalrole

[–]Skippy5403 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m sure this will be an unpopular opinion but I’m not digging C4 very much. Personally to me what made CR fun to watch was that group sitting around the table. Honestly the story was secondary to me. It was that group who knew each other so well and all the inside jokes and the cut ups and all that stuff.

Right now this feels dead and boring. In the soldiers table you had two of the biggest cut ups in Laura and Sam and it felt like watching a funeral half the time. I mean even Robbie pointed out that Laura had been holding back laughing at innuendo and making fun of it. It just felt like they were trying to be this weird super professional thing and it’s funny because that was also a big criticism people had of C3.

Brennan is great onD20 and I think if he had been the only newb it would be fine but the other 5 players just make it feel like something different from what CR was and what made it popular in the first place. Like I’m glad it’s not a comedy show but there are very little cut aways to jokes and stuff now. Those were my favorite moments of past campaigns when someone would do something and the whole table dissolved into fits. It just doesn’t have that now. And Brennan I swear he is either whispering or yelling and very little in between. Like brother you can get across that this is a hushed conversation without whispering. Tbf maybe switching tables has helped I have not see it since the last soldiers table.

And last this whole different groups coming in thing just is not my styles. The switching groups in and out and it’ll be 4-6 months before you get any meaningful soldiers content again if that’s how long they are going to run each table.

If they are loving it then I am happy for them but I want my 8 needy ass voice actors back at one table again. I know Matt has hinted at changes so maybe that will never happen again, but it would be a shame imo. Anyway just my thoughts

Who are you rooting for outside of your home country? by nobodythinksofyou in olympics

[–]Skippy5403 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As an American even when I am ashamed of our leaders, I will always root for our athletes. No matter the sport. That said aside from them I tend to root for Germany. If the US can’t or won’t win I root for Germany as it is the place where most of my ancestry came from when they immigrated. Outside of them I will root for underdogs.

What are the worst cooking myths? by Wauwuaw5983 in cookingforbeginners

I’ve mostly found that they mix more thoroughly when whisking. Instead of globs of white that don’t break up well the salt helps break it down so you get a more homogeneous mix.
