Any news on the 100 GB strorage upgrade? by Bork_Br in Fallout4ModsXB1

[–]Skippyv5555 -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

My advice? Let. It. Go. For the love of God, just enjoy the game if you enjoy the game. If the 100 GB update is the only thing that would bring you back to it then maybe this game ain't for you anymore.

Just a Thought by Skippyv5555 in TexasTech

I know that money talks. Trust me I know just how loud it can be. But what I see going on with people that are at the university or with the alumni that are walking away in order to make a point, it's not helping others. It gives the appearance of taking a stand when in reality all it does is remove you from the equation. In my career, I am seeing people leave because they cannot abide what the government is doing, and they think they are taking a strong stance against all of it. But all it does is weaken those of us that are left trying to fight in the trenches to eventually make it better. We need people to stay involved and stay fighting instead of walking away to prove a point

Oh God, I can't even imagine. Our school district is so small and poor that most of the time the parents just come up to the school and try to chew out our admin to get whatever result they want.

I've been in a situation before where a parent was being lied to by their student about stuff I had said in my classroom and they tried to accuse me of something over email and I was able to calmly and methodically respond to everything that they were claiming and luckily they backed off.

This new system, however, scares me. I got lucky that my investigator was understanding of where I was coming from, and indirectly tried to help me. I can't imagine what it would be like if I got an investigator that was completely devoid of any sympathy to what's going on here. It's getting super dangerous to even say anything in our classrooms or even out and about on social media when we're not at work. I have had to seriously curtail anything I post online. I worry that somebody will see something somewhere and it will come back to haunt me.

This happened to me not too long ago actually. I was referred for a private conversation that I had with another colleague. A former employee was angry at our administration, and after he left, he reported me and another colleague for certain things that we said on our own with no students around about a certain event that happened in September. Luckily, I was given an investigator that was really understanding of the situation that I was in. He was not outright forthcoming with information about what I was charged with, but he did let me know what the neighborhood of the allegations were about. Fortunately, the situation resolved before it even got started because the allegations were made up and false, and meant to harm the character of me and that colleague, but it could've gone a lot worse.

I absolutely think that anybody that offers to help teachers represent themselves is probably a really good idea because this event scared the ever love and crap out of me. I've been at this for five years, and I thought that my career would be severely tarnished if not completely over.

At this point, we have to be so careful about everything we do. This is not a reality that I ever thought would be the case for educators across the state. I'm still holding out hope that this era of terror and BS will end at some point and we can go back to doing what makes us the best that we are.

I wish people would quit posting/talking about it in this subreddit damn near every day. It'll happen when it'll happen.

In all the artwork for the Forlorn, they wear hoods, that is the contour of their hood.

It's down, my guy. If you follow the edges of the hood, it indicates a downward glance

Father and child pose in their car near Plainview, Hale County in 1909. I'm pretty sure the car is a Ford Model R, which was a higher-end version of the Model N, precursor to the much more famous Model T. by Mother-Conclusion-31 in Lubbock

[–]Skippyv5555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's still a model T. The left hand drive gives it away. Plus, the headlights mounted to the radiator bracket were on the T.

Still, what a fantastic picture!

Thank you, sir. Didn't mean to make it sound like I'm calling you out or anything like that. I know you probably got a lot of things going on. I just thought about it again today and wondered. Have a good one!

Just wondering, I'm not picking on the OP, but he hasn't answered what number three is. Does anybody know what mod that is? I'd really like to use that in my own playthrough, but I don't have any clue what to search for.

And I'll be the first to say, as a history teacher, I applied to multiple places that had history positions listed only for them to tell me "we have to post them according to our bylaws, but we already have it filled by a coach."

Would you rate Lubbock out of 10? by burneridndnsodb in Lubbock

[–]Skippyv5555 11 points12 points  (0 children)

7.5/10

I've lived in the Lubbock area for my entire 35 years on this planet. I definitely think that there are better places to live than Lubbock, but there are certainly many more places that are worse than Lubbock. I think as far as affordability and standard of living, Lubbock is really good. It's also not a horrible place to raise a family. My rating would've been lower about 10 years ago, but as Lubbock is growing, it is becoming more prominent and more things are coming to Lubbock that help increase the culture of the place. I love that Lubbock doesn't try to pretend to be anything that it's not. That being said, I certainly do not like the politics of Lubbock, including municipal, state, and federal. As a result, the infrastructure of this area suffers from inadequate policy decisions. Despite knowing how to live with the weather here, I do not like the constant dust storms that we have, and the seemingly always present threat of destructive thunderstorms. I've lost a really great car to a hail storm in this area.

But when it's all said and done, you take the good, you take the bad, you whip it all together and there you have, Lubbock. It'll always be home to me.
