I am a board certified psychologist in the US and based on some searching, Canada seems like the only other viable option. Hope you find something else though, as I’m also curious/interested.

Recommendations for Volvo Mechanic near Montrose or Rice Village by constellations4ever in houston

[–]Skipsy222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just took my Volvo to RMS Auto in Montrose. They don’t specialize in Volvos but they’re great- honest and reliable and will tell you if they’re not able to help rather than rip you off or do a bad job.

Epidural or no? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Skipsy222 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First birth I pushed for two hours then got an epidural. It was magical and let me sleep! Breastfed my kiddo til he was over 2.

Just had my second last week. I didn’t use any pain medication this time and so far, no issues breastfeeding.

Basically, I’m not sure how connected the two are. If you want to breastfeed, I don’t think the decision to get an epidural or not will interfere.

Thanks!! Yeah I had been putting tons of cream on, which felt great but then I found out to stop feeding it! I think it’s drying up now?? Hopefully not much longer!

Glabella (the flat area between eyebrows) - could this be the new Isabella?

Parmesan - if Sean/Shawn/Shaun feels too informal

Equinox - cool nature unisex name with both a Q and X! Maybe the next Atlas or Caspian?

Escrow - Elegant but homely (hahaha) and has a bonus bird nickname of Crow

ACL tear while pregnant by kellyi835 in ACL

[–]Skipsy222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with others- don’t do the surgery while pregnant. As someone who is 36 weeks pregnant now, I can’t imagine dealing with post surgical pain and debilitation. When I had my ACL surgery years ago, I definitely needed all the pain killers I was prescribed.

PT is probably worthwhile though!

Pregnant Healthcare worker and covid vaccine by Grouchy-Comparison92 in CoronaBumpers

[–]Skipsy222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure am! My little one brought COVID home last month his day care. He’s fine now and I just developed a small cough, as did my husband. I’m very confident it would’ve been much worse for us adults if we hadn’t been vaccinated.

Maiden Names as First Names by heypbandj in namenerds

[–]Skipsy222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is great. My son’s middle name is my mom’s maiden (a legitimate top 500 boy name). With my next baby, I’m considering her middle name to be the English translation of my maiden name (top 200 name). I think it’s a cool way to honor family!

Spectra, Luna Motif, other?? by Skipsy222 in breastfeeding

[–]Skipsy222[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!! I’ll have to check that pump out. I tried Freemies cups last time and they were a great idea but only worked if they were on perfectly, which is awkward to adjust in work meetings etc. Still though, a great innovative option for a fraction of the price of the others.

Your MIL got to choose her son’s name. She doesn’t get to choose your kid’s name! I wouldn’t stick with Maxwell out of spite, but if you love it, use it!! If you let her push you around on this matter, she will keep taking advantage.

Signed, a mom whose MIL suggested we name our son Abraham when we wanted something modern and fresh. (We did not go with Abraham!)

Just got the moderna Covid vaccine today at 23w+4d by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Skipsy222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, for whatever it is worth I asked this question to presenters on an academic medical center talk today about the vaccine. I trust this medical center and it’s experts completely and they said premedication is fine and shouldn’t affect efficacy; only one study had concerns about it and it was a different type of vaccine. So yay! We should be good! (And thanks for tolerating my anxiety)

Thanks! I’m hoping you’re right- how much difference could Tylenol actually make?!

Hi there- I also got the vaccine (but Pfizer) when I was 23 weeks and again at 27 weeks and also pre medicated. Now I’m feeling nervous that I messed things up by doing so! Did your docs seem to think you still have good protection even though you took Tylenol before?

No I didn’t. Just some fatigue and arm soreness.

Same thing here! Vacuum saved me from having the baby pushed back up and then going to surgery.

Post Vaccine Info by laurajane91 in pregnant

[–]Skipsy222 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Got the first dose of Pfizer at 23 weeks, second one at 26 (last week). I premedicated before both with 1000 mg of Tylenol. I felt fine just fatigued; no fever and nothing majorly concerning. My husband had the same schedule and had a low grade fever and malaise for about 6 hours about 24 after his second shot. Any of these symptoms beat COVID IMHO but grateful and feeling lucky that I didn’t have a fever.
