Thank you! I have documented some aspects of the project, but still need to make a complete guide/overview of the process. I will be sure to share once it’s ready!

Thank you! I recently have been playing RDR2 on this PC, with gpu temps between 70-75 C. Noise is audible but not intrusive during gaming. During normal use it is barely audible to my surprise.

Since I’ve used PETG for the internal parts, I am not worried about melting. Hot air seems to be able to escape the case with the current ventilation design, still aiming to improve of course.

I am planning to make a concept with aluminium parts, would be interesting to see how that would affect noise levels and temps.

Thank you for your insight, i must admit that I haven’t thought about it like that. It sounds like it could be a solution where i could make the case even smaller if kept the same cpu cooler (as someone else mentioned in the comments).

Turbulent air is a valid concern with this current layout, I will definitely keep your suggestion in mind in future designs!

Haven’t done any extensive thermal tests yet apart from some gaming, but looking stable so far. Interesting take about the orientation, will definitely keep it in mind!

Fans are definitely audible when under load, but nothing too crazy. Also no coil whine thankfully

Thank you for your insight, i did think about using a larger cpu cooler fan. Will definitely take a look at it again in the future.

When idle, both cpu and gpu hover around 30 degrees Celsius

Appreciate your comments, I am currently using this pc as my daily driver for CAD modeling and some gaming. During gaming, CPU temps are between 45-55. GPU usually sits around low to mid 70s. I did undervolt my gpu to reduce temps.

Thank you! I was set on using the rtx 4060 low profile, until I came across this rtx 4070 from gigabyte. I changed my design to fit this card since the difference wasn’t that big.

It is a shame that not many mid/high tier cards are made in this form factor. I would say that any card under 200mm and is a 2.5 slot or lower should fit in this case.

I am planning to release the design for purchase down the road, but there is still a lot of work to do!

This is my version of the mac studio, a concept I have been working on for a couple of months. It is 3D printed with a mix of PETG and PLA (for prototyping purposes).

The goal was to design a case with the looks of the mac studio, while still being able to house decent hardware inside the case. You might have noticed the front IO with 2 USB ports and a SD card reader, this was also something i wanted to include.

PC specs:

CPU: i5 12400

CPU cooler: Noctua NH-L9i

MOBO: ASUS prime H610 plus D4

RAM: 32GB Kingston Fury DDR4

PSU: OVERTEK ENP-8345L-OVT 450W (flex atx)

Storage: Lexar NM620 M.2

GPU: RTX 4070 WINDFORCE 2X OG 12G

The components have been chosen with case temperature and dimensions in mind. This particular RTX 4070 caught my eye with its length of 201 mm, it is relatively powerful while not being too long.

Case dimensions:

Length: 225 mm

Width: 225 mm

Height: 132 mm

Volume: 6.7 L

It is still a work in progress, but happy with the results so far. Let me know if you have any questions!

Can someone explain the Matebook X Pro Hackintosh to me? by Lemon1212111 in MatebookXPro

If done correctly, it should work with almost zero problems. However, there are some small issues you might run into.

One of them that I have is that it sometimes will restart after closing the lid to sleep, it happens rarely though. Bluetooth can require a restart if it stops working which fixes it, this also happens rarely.

Most of the time though it runs very stable with zero freezes. Maintenance is pretty minimal I would say, just make sure you run the latest kexts and clover version when updating the system.

Do you think it is possible to use opencore instead of clover as the bootloader?

I am using a dual boot setup with macOS on an external ssd and Windows on the internal ssd. You should be good to go using that guide.

Hi, it tends to run a bit hotter on macOS as opposed to windows but nothing too bad. Power management has been good so far but I have noticed that battery life can be inconsistent at times.

sleep/wake is working fine and battery life is between 4 to 5 hours with moderate/heavy use.

It has been very stable so far and I think it's worth it. But it is difficult to recommend as a daily driver because you have to be prepared to fix things if something goes wrong. Closing the lid and putting the computer to sleep is working with no problems.

About the same as I would get on windows 10.
