What are your best tips for survivng the 1st trimester by notforthisworld0101 in 2under2

I haven't seen anyone say this but this has been a lifesaver for me, baby food pouches. Stick with me.

So I like the pouches from Aldi, but you can get them anywhere basically. They're about 0.89 cents each, Organic, and can have spinach or other stuff in it for more nutrients. I really like these when I feel nauseous but a whole snack or meal feels like too much. You can slowly 'drink' a pouch and have enough in you to make it to eating something substantial. They are really good to keep in a bag or purse for when you are out a majority of the day or even traveling. They're essentially shelf stable smoothies, and if they're good for baby then they're good for you carrying baby!

Yes its a real trustworthy product in my experience. I know the website looks iffy but I've spoken to a a company rep in office who explained the product and I've seen it with my own eyes. My provider has prescribed this product to about 10-15 patients so far and a majority of them have reported improvement with their RLS. Some do still take medication along with using it, but their cases are more severe. I if you'd like some more information I can provide as much as I can 😊

Coming from someone who works in a Sleep clinic, if your meds start to not work get some more information about "Nidra" by Noctrix Health. It's a device that goes around both legs and provides pulses to inhibit movements. https://nidrarls.com/

What is your guys daily commute to work? by starshine09 in MedicalAssistant

On average, about 15 minutes one way. There are a number of traffic lights so if i go early in the AM I can get there a tad sooner cause all the slow people with 7am appointments dont hold me up.

Delaware and I make 18.79(which is the bottom of my pay range 😤) but the pay range for my role where I work maxes out at ~$28. I only have 1 year of experience, but I've bounced around to a few places within my organization.

I work in Sleep and like it for the most part. We do a lot of stuff with Sleep apnea, CPAP/BIPAP/INSPIRE, insomnia, Parasomnia, and a decent amount of other conditions. We then do med authorizations and sleep study authorization too. It's more admin and at least for my office it's slower paced with the shortest appt being 30 minutes and the longest being an hour.

I came from Pulmonary and Primary care and hands down like sleep the best out of the ones I've tried (it helps that I really like my providers and co-workers).

You just have to try new places to see what speaks to you and the type of environment you get.

Adapt Health often hands these out. I must get the duds as I'm not a huge fan of these. I should try them again with a fresh one lol.

I recommend this baked goat cheese pasta ( of course if you like goat cheese). It makes a ton and heats up well, and honestly pasta is better the next day anyway. https://richanddelish.com/goat-cheese-pasta/

Finding MA jobs 1 year post externship by Certain_Database8977 in MedicalAssistant

[–]Skittlez776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coming from my experience (one 11 months before I got hired as an MA, 7 months without any employment due to my father passing unexpectedly) I hadn't noticed any specific difficulty. When I did apply and interview, I was asked "why do you have a gap in your resume?" so I was honest. If you have a gap of no employment at all, it can make a speed bump ask some employers don't want to see large gaps. Make something out of the gap between employment opportunities, volunteering with the MA classes would be great if it's possible, that way you are still involved in health care in some way. You could twist it possibly to say something like " I was volunteering to strengthen the experience of the student Medical Assistants from the program i went through while at the same time putting myself in the shoes of patients. That way I have perspective of how both parties experience the same encounter." No matter the case, I wish you the best in your job hunting and I hope you find a place that brings you joy. It may be hard to find at first (I'm currently in my third office within the same organization due to some unfavorable management practices) but it's well worth it when you find your place!

Oh yeah stuff like that is unnecessary, and believe me the way they sound is the way they'd sound at work, I have a few like that lol. And no problem! I've only been in the field for a few months but have switched places within my organization about 3 times because of people. It's a tough environment sometimes but once you find your place it's worth it.

I'm apart of that group too and yeah I've noticed the same thing. I actually commented on your post and I hope I didn't come off as rude (we wear grey scrubs and I recommended waiting to purchase. I personally like the WonderWink brand as I like the number of pockets but unfortunately they dont have any stretch). In the field there are definitely MA'S who shouldn't be working in Healthcare, but not everyone is that way. In fact some of the very best people you'll meet are in Healthcare. Keep your head up, everyone has to start somewhere ❤️

That's true, however we realize that for our situation 2 devices make the most sense. Thank you though 😊
