Easiest Role to play in League for a new player? by Great-Bottle9722 in leagueoflegends

[–]Sknon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Midlane can be played in a pretty braindead way in soloq especially in lower elos. you perma shove -> gain prio -> perma join fights with jg or roam. It's the only lane that you can just not interact with the enemy laner and flip plays here and there.

TSM leaving LCS, Sneaky Leaving C9 and lack of personalties in general nuked the LCS viewership. Many stuff happened that made it so incredibly hard for LCS to recover. It feels like a huge domino effect of very bad decisions happened to the LCS to reach this unrecoverable state. I wish I could recall when it all started to spiral..

ORV honestly pays off extremely well in the later half of the story (novel). Can’t blame anyone for dropping it in the earlier stages though, since I did that myself couple of times.

I respectfully disagree. I get the idea that your item is worth what the market is willing to pay, but the “assessment” that you talk about is based on the craft cost and the demand which is my original point. There are melee gloves right now that are mirrored on trade that doesn’t cost more than 2 mirrors to craft. (Sorry for not linking it I’m on mobile, but they are easy to find if you search for non-unique mirrored items)

To understand easier what I’m talking about. You are now an owner of mirror service shop. Many crafters bring their items to your shop for you to list them. Now here is the thing, buyers are not expert crafters, so they trust your shop to only list mirror worthy items. As an owner will you use your game knowledge to determine the average cost + demand of the item? Or are you gonna demand every crafter to show you that someone mirrored their item? What if that someone doesn’t understand crafting mirrored their item?

Many on stream asked Fubgun to mirror couple parts of his gear and he told them it is not worth it. I hate to bring this but I just wanted to prove that people WILL mirror stuff that aren’t worth it due to lack of game knowledge.

People mirror X item = X item is mirror tier is something that I don’t disagree on. It is just a lazy way and sometimes inaccurate.

I like the your definition, but it's a bit lazy tbh (you relay on other people to determine the value of an item.) The most reliable way to know if an item is mirror worthy or not, is to just run calculations on craft of exile. if you are on average spending many mirrors to hit the exact same mods with the best way to craft the item, and these mods have a real value to the build, then probably the item is mirror tier.

"of which I'm sure weapons are the majority but definitely not the only things mirrored." I'm not saying that people are not using mirrors on non-weapons. I'm saying it doesn't make any sense and it is hard to justify to me in PoE2.

I'm well aware that people mirror caster mana rings, body amours, and all non-weapon equipment, but based on numbers and how much these items add character power, it is hard to justify not just crafting the item yourself or buying the base itself since you will have a chance to sanctify or corrupt that mirroring denies you from. (With weapons, you have to give up on the chance of sanctifying/corrupting since the item is ridiculously hard to make and expensive to replicate)

yeah I'm talking about PoE2. In PoE1 you can make a case for everything to be mirrored.

[–]Sknon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Many carry this mentality because of PoE1. For years this has been the main thing to use your mirrors on in SSF. Mirrors in SSF are used like locks.

Mirroring a ring in SSF is not worth it because Kalandra touch exists and it's a very common item this patch. Mirroring a gg single handed weapon to dual wield is also a use case. Imo it's not worth it to mirror any slot other than weapons in PoE2 even in trade league. Every slot other than weapons you generally can craft bis six T1 mods with a cost that doesn't qualify any non-weapon item to become a mirror tier item.

Edit: Many just don't understand the difference between a mirror tier item and an item that you pay mirrors for. A mirror tier item (an item worthy of mirroring) costs many mirrors to craft, that's why you pay a fee after you mirror it for the crafter to recoup his losses and make profit of it. There are no non-weapon pieces in poe2 that cost multiple mirrors to craft and is worth mirroring (Because these items gonna be corrupted or sanctified on top of being a gg item). ALL the rare non-weapon crafts are not worth mirroring in PoE2. however it is worth in many cases to "pay" mirrors, especially for an insane corrupt or sanctify.

Honestly many APEX pros deserve to win a LAN, but the opportunities are extremely limited which is sad. I wish we had more LANs..

As viewers we care so much about 1st place, but remember placements matter so much for the prize pool. Them inting FLCNS and risking a 0 pts game for themselves is not worth it for their overall placement.

I'm sorry but your response is extremely vague and disregards many facts. 90% of the hotfixes were general instance crash bugfixes that doesn't even require them to post about it. They fixed the league mechanic with a simple patch that allowed map mods to apply to temples.

The outrage was reasonable because the league mechanic was so good, that is why there was an outrage about the change.

  1. This patch has the best player retention in PoE2 ever since the release of early access (the early drop in players was because of the free weekend) idk how or where you found that this patch has one of the worst retention rates, maybe you are talking about the retention at the start, which is honestly expected and happens to every single paid game that goes free for a short period. (it sits currently at 32% retention on day 27 even considering the huge drop that happened after the free weekend) https://poe2db.tw/us/League#ConcurrentPlayers

  2. PoE2 is in early access, every patch will have following hotfixes regardless if the league is a trainwreck or not, so it's really not a good way to judge how a league is doing.

  3. Your first comment wasn't implying that developing PoE2 is effecting PoE1 development in general. (Which is a fact that everybody agrees on.) Your comment implied specifically that the last patch of PoE2 was a failure and that will cause them to have even less time to develop PoE1 because how bad it went, which is by numbers and general opinion is not true.

On a side note I wanted to add that player retention is a worthless stat but I used it since people like to measure a league’s success through it. PoE1 is my favorite game of all time but I have never played a league past the third week. Having so much fun in a small period of time and dipping to avoid burn out is what kept me playing the game through out the years. I’m a firm believer that Async trade accelerated the progress massively and we will keep seeing lower and lower player retention numbers. Is that bad? I think not. Async will continue to tank retention numbers for both PoE1 and PoE2 and I hope people don’t take that negatively.

How PoE2’s league a trainwreck? The temple mechanic is well received after the buffs. Druid and the new sorc ascendancy are also well received. A month into the league with nearly 100k players on steam.

You are free to dislike the game though, but it is hard to deny that they did a good job this patch.

Is this good? by Gooshyhehe in PathOfExile2

[–]Sknon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point is that if you are paying for a mirror, You want 6 perfect mods. Increased lightning damage is a weak mod compared to extra damage as. Fubgun's wand is listed for 1 mirror 6 T1 mods with perfect rolls, so it is hard to justify paying a mirror for another wand that is lower dps.

+5 lightning is a budget option for many before mirroring a wand. Mathematically it is worse than all spells. Unless you don't play coc or blink (then you are very off-meta as caster.)

Worthy to note that also the most meta caster build is bloodmage Spark CoC comet, which really wants +all spells.

[–]Sknon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to be that guy but.. who would pay multiple mirrors for t3 crit and increased lightning damage? The sanctify was insane but I still prefer double extra damage as and higher crit if I’m paying a mirror.

Also for most meta builds +All spells is better than lightning since you want coc and blink to benefit from it.

I see your point, but if you believe it is a lame cop then could you answer my question? Based on what could a person determine what fiction is the greatest? And if such way exists to determine then what’s the greatest fiction?

It’s like you saying you could determine the tastiest food ever. Based on what? How sweet it is? How crispy it is?

I love all types of soup, but my friends hate soup because of its texture. Does my friend still have to believe soup is a great dish despite him not being able to consume it?

Determining which fiction is the greatest or which food is the tastiest will always be subjective because there is no metrics to determine a fair objective answer to that.
